New Pattern: Hvar Jacket
The Hvar Jacket is now in the shop!
(I am also doing a “we just got robbed” sale. Be sure to read to the end for details!)
Let me tell you that the Hvar Jacket is deceiving. It is on trend, elegant, flattering, fancy and expensive-looking. It must be hard to sew, right? Wrong! Completely, utterly wrong!
The Hvar Jacket is surprisingly easy to sew. It has a total of four pattern pieces. That’s it! If you haven’t sew a jacket in your life, this is the perfect place to start. I guarantee that you want to sew at least three. And you are so empowered that you will be ready to tackle anything a notch or two up.
But if you are a sewing veteran, you will still appreciate the simplicity and ingenuity of the design. Don’t get me wrong; there’s always room for you to make it difficult if that’s what you are into (try with slippery fabric that requires stripe matching, just a suggestion), but it doesn’t have to be.
All patterns in the shop (except for six that are at $5 only!), including the Hvar Jacket pattern is 20% off for one week only!
Hvar Jacket Features:
- Unlined bodice with optional Hong Kong seam finish
- Graceful waterfall collar
- Chic pointed front hem
- Long sleeves
Let me show you the gorgeousness of the Hvar Jackets from my talented testers:

As I mentioned in my newsletter, our home and office were burglarized, and essentially everything my husband and I use to make a living was lost, including the contents of the safe room, which included computers, sewing machine and all of the cameras.
As you might imagine, this presents a pretty serious problem for both of us.
In order to help accelerate some sales to help replace lost equipment, I am doing a special “we just got robbed” sale:
For one week only, these six patterns will only be $5:
All other patterns in the shop will also be 20% off. This is the best time for you to finally get the patterns on your wish list! Thank you for your support!
Hi, does anyone know, in the images, what fabric has been used to make the green and white/cream jacket. i just love it 🙂
Wow! I love the neckline/collar of this jacket! I second the wish for a plus sized jacket pattern! Although the off center lines are stylish and stunning, the eye drawn straight to my protruding apron stomach and hip area would be a horrible eye draw. If anyone has suggestions for an adjustment of center front lines it would be a great help. It appears that the darts also are lined up with the lines of the front of the jacket…ah to be a 20 with standard hips.
Hello.
Today I discovered this website and absolutely love the hvar jacket. Am sorry about the awful robbery and I hope you recovered from it. Is the hvar pattern still available please?
Regards
Therese
Hi Therese, thank you for your kind words and concern. I recovered from the robbery ok. It’s been 2.5 years. I am so glad for everyone’s support. The Hvar is still available. You can follow one if the links above to the product page. Since it’s a digital pattern (pdf/instant download), the patterns are always available. I haven’t restored any patterns yet, and my oldest pattern remain popular. 😊 Have a great day!
Sorry to hear your news. I have made a small purchase. Every little helps.
It does help. Thank you very much!
So sorry to hear about you getting burgled. It happened to me as well. You really do feel violated, it gave me the wibbles for a long time afterwards., but you will recover. Keep your positivity and things will get better.
I am new to your delightful blog and am completely enamored of your innovative designs. I have gained weight in the last few years and no longer fit an 18-20. Have you considered making the patterns in more plus sizes?
Thanks.
Thsnkbuou for your encouragement Leslie. I am sorry to hear that you had to go through such awful experience. Yes, I have thought about expanding the size range (several people asked me too). I want to really spend some time to do it well.
I’m so very sorry to hear about the robbery you’ve suffered. My best wishes come to you (from Scotland); you’re a very talented designer and I hope you both recover from this horror quickly.
With my very best wishes,
Deb Mckenzie
PS I LOVE the Hvar Jacket! Your talent and goodness will prevail❤️
Thank you for the encouraging words Deb. That is very sweet of you. I know we will overcome it, hopefully very soon.
Lovely pattern!! I am purchasing this and a few more from my wish list 🙂 Hope that helps a little in helping you get back on your feet – love and prayers to you 🙂 <3
Thank you Amanda ((((hug)))
Sorry to hear what happened to you. Just grabbed a couple of patterns. Thanks for your wonderful designs.
Thank you Hitomi. Your support means a lot to me.
I am so sorry about what has happened to you !
I am going to buy the Anza dress (I had my eye on it since some time !) and hope it will be some small help, too !
Thanks for making patterns with various cup size, it is so usefull for me (tiny boobs …), and I hate having to make a SBA, it always ends up with me making several muslins for a not-so-good result in the end.
Laetitia
I am glad to hear they fit you well. Thank you for your support!
Kennis, these testers were amazing! I’m so saddened to hear about your house being robbed. It’s such a violating feeling that some stranger rummaged through all your things and then took all your prized and most necessary possessions as well. I know it will be practically impossible, but I hope the Police can recover something.
Thank you for your kind words Abbey.
I’m so sorry about the robbery. Prayers for you.
Thank you for the prayers Kris.
Oh no, that’s just awful. I’ve bought a few from my Wishlist, hope it helps some
I appreciate your support.
