  1. Jolene –

I’m usually a button-up shirt or T-shirt gal, but this was a nice, fun alternative. I had a firm knit fabric waiting in my fabric stash, one with horses on it, Perfect for a Polo Shirt.
The PDF with Print Just The Size You Want printed out perfectly. As usual, all the information and instructions, with clear visuals, made this project come together without stress or undue anxiety. My only issue was with the fabric itself. Though easy to sew, and I could steam iron the tab and collar into submission, my personal sewing skills were a little short when trying to “perfectly “ stitch the tab top and bottom sandwiched evenly. Between the thickness of the fabric and the interfacing, things got a bit thick, I’m sure if I did this a few times, I would get that “beautiful “ all thickness evenly sewn look. But very happy with the results. It was an easy make, even though the thought of Cutting through the middle of a top is a scary was an idea to me. Now that I am finished, I’m gonna head to the barn, tack-up a horse and go for a test ride. Happy Trails.

  3. Sandra –

I watched Karina’s video on the placket construction and it came together very nicely. The rest of the construction was quick. I am very delighted with my very first Polo dress.

  4. Aimee –

How to choose your size

  1. Determine if you should use the regular bust front pieces or the full-bust front pieces—subtract the circumference of your over bust from the circumference of the fullest part of your bust. If the rounded difference is 3″ (7.5 cm) or less, use regular bust; if it is more than 3" (7.5 cm), use full bust.

  2. Compare your bust circumference (fullest part) to the “Body Measurements” table. Using the corresponding row for your bust (regular bust or full bust), choose the size that best fits your bust. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size if you like your garment more fitted; otherwise, choose the bigger size.

  3. Compare your waist circumference (narrowest part) to the “Body Measurements” table. Choose the size that best fits your waist. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size if you like your garment more fitted; otherwise, choose the bigger size.

  4. Compare your hip circumference (widest part) to the “Body Measurements” table. Choose the size that fits your hip best. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size if you like your garment more fitted; otherwise, choose the bigger size.

  5. It’s OK to use different sizes for the bust, waist and hip. The instructions for blending sizes are included in the pattern.

  6. If you are taller or shorter than 5’6” (168 cm), you should consider lengthening or shortening the garment. The instructions for lengthening or shortening are included in the pattern.
