New Size Range: Mountain View Pull-on Jeans
I can’t tell you how excited I am to share with you this BIG milestone!! Itch to Stitch has taken the first step to expand the size range! The first pattern with an expanded size range is one of Itch to Stitch’s most popular patterns, the Mountain View Pull-on Jeans! Now the pattern goes up to 54 1/4″ (138 cm) for the waist and 62″ (157.5 cm) for the hip!
Hooray!
Thank you so much for bearing with me while I took the time to work out the details of the expanded sizes.
Many people who sewed the Mountain View jeans already know how awesome they are. They look exactly like jeans when you wear them, but they are as easy to make as pull-on pants!
Mountain View Pull-on Jeans highlights:
- Slightly high mid-rise
- Wide waistband for some tummy control
- Straight cut legs (with instructions on making slim legs)
- Four pockets
- Seam along back legs for greater shaping
- Faux fly with topstitching
When you purchase the pattern, you will receive both size ranges: Sizes 00 to 20 as well as sizes 22 to 40. Yes, you get twenty-two sizes with one purchase!
If you purchased the Mountain View pattern before, all you have to do is to go to your account and download the files again.
Sizes 00 to 20 are in one file, and sizes 22 to 40 are in a different file. They are not nested together because I actually drafted the sizes 22 to 40 separately. In other words, the bigger sizes do not nest neatly together with the original sizes 00 to 20.
For one week only (through August 9, 2020), the Mountain View Pull-on Jeans is 20% off. The volume discount still applies—get 15% off your entire cart if your purchase is $20 or more, or 20% off your entire cart if your purchase is $30 or more!

OMG. Just finished my first pair of Mountain View pull on jeans in dark indigo 20% stretch denim with tencel from Sew Me Sunshine. If you are in the UK I cannot recommend this denim enough and they have it online now and in several colours. These jeans are SECRET PYJAMAS !!!! They fit so well and are so comfy. I’m tall so I made some length adjustments to the crotch length, to ensure the waist was in the right place, and to the leg and graded the waist in to bring it down a size. I had a few moments of doubt choosing the right size because I am a 22 hip and a 20 waist and of course the two sizes are in different files and there’s no overlap. Then I looked at the crotch length and noticed the 22 was quite a bit longer than the 20 so that decided me and I just graded the waist in. I also reduced the leg width below the knee by 3/8″ each side as I didn’t want them quite so wide. I used 1″ wide elastic because that was all I had. WHY HAVEN”T I MADE THESE BEFORE? They are amazing. I have already bought 3 more pieces of denim /cotton twill to make black, grey and chocolate brown ones. The pattern is so well drafted and the instructions are very complete. I did also look at Karina from Lifting Pins and Needles videos about making these and used her method for finishing the waistband which worked perfectly. If you want the comfiest jeans ever – make these next!!
Hi Kennis, I would love to purchase your Mountain View Jeans pattern but I am having a hard time finding the stretch denim. I have checked all suggested websites and they all seem to be out of stock for the stretch denim. Any suggestions? I didn’t want to purchase the pattern and then find out I am unable to find the stretch denim. Thank you for your help.
LA Finch has one with 20% stretch. https://www.lafinchfabrics.com/products/cone-mills-fashion-stretch-dark-indigo-s-gene-8-oz-denim-woven I think stretch denim would be more abundant now that people are starting to sew for the fall in the Northern Hemisphere. I’d say google “stretch denim fabric” again in a couple of weeks and you should find more. And don’t be afraid to email the store and ask about the stretch percentage.
Thank you so much for your quick reply Kennis. I will check out the mentioned website.
Hi,
Could ya’ll put a size range chart up, that tells what measurements each size fits and also show what the finished measures would be, for this new expanded size. Every pattern company is different when it comes to sizing. I bet others would appreciate that too. Thank you, ArtJeanee
Hi ArtJeanee, Sure! You can go to the pattern listing (https://itch-to-stitch.com/product/mountain-view-pull-jeans-digital-sewing-pattern-pdf/) and see the size chart tabe at the bottom.
I love these Kennis! Thanks for including everyone in your patterns – you rock!
How do you purchase it
Hi Betty, thanks for your interest. You can click on one of the links in the post or go directly to the product listing: https://itch-to-stitch.com/product/mountain-view-pull-jeans-digital-sewing-pattern-pdf/ From there, you add to the cart and check out.
