The Andes Jacket boasts an array of standout features:

- Unlined bodice
- Sleeves with diagonal seam lines
- Princess seams from shoulders
- Ample front pockets with exposed zippers
- Exposed center front zipped closure
- High-low hem with a round back
- Designed for fleece-backed softshell fabric with a touch of stretch
I absolutely adore the Andes Jacket for its fantastic seam details – they’re not just visually appealing but also incredibly functional. These well-thought-out seams offer the perfect chance to customize the fit to suit your unique shape.
For instance, the diagonal seams on the sleeves add a distinctive touch. The front boasts two intriguing princess seams that cleverly incorporate the pockets, and the back features princess seams along with a gracefully curved horizontal seam. These seams are not only stylish but also create a wonderful canvas for color-blocking, allowing you to get creative with your design.

Don’t miss out on the Andes Jacket pattern release discount. Happy sewing!
Perfect pattern for the soft-shell I bought at a fabric outlet a few years ago but never used. This pattern will be my practice run and perfect for Canadian weather. Here we can change clothes several times a day hahaha summer and winter
Me again! I love Emma One-Sock and have bought from her several times. She has new fabrics in, including new jacket wear. This source is very pricey ($88/yard for that gorgeous green clover stuff!) but her FRENCH waterproof taupe fabric is only $19/yard and so classy. No, she doesn’t pay me. I’m just sharing.
I have not purchased from them, but I found on the Seattle Fabrics website they have a sub-category of soft-shell fabrics in their outerwear section. https://www.seattlefabrics.com I can’t wait to make this jacket. It looks perfect
Beautiful style! Seems to me the fabric would depend on where you live. A local fabric store would offer fabric good for the area. I just got flowered fleece stuff thru Cali Fabrics for a robe, but for sure it would make a happy jacket like those of your colorful testers. I moved from Tahoe to Palm trees and heat in W. Sacramento. The choice would depend on whether you want warmth or waterproof — or both. The testers did some inspiring hi-jinks with color, contrast cording, pretty hood lining, etc.
I’ve been looking for a pattern like this for quite some time so am happy to see this! Can you tell us where to source softshell fabric? Thanks.
Hi Jane, here are some but you can also google “softshell fabric” to find more.

Oh my – I wish this pattern was available last year when I was looking for a jacket pattern. It’s perfect. The pattern I ended up using, not so much. I may have to try again…
