Material
Primary Fabric Bottom-weight woven fabric with no stretch, such as denim, twill, corduroy and heavy-weight linen.
Interfacing Medium-weight fusible woven or weft insertion interfacing
Other Materials
- One 7” (18 cm) or longer coil or metal zipper in size 3, 4 or 5 with 1” (2.5 cm) total width (measure zipper tape edge to edge)
- One 1/4” (6mm)-wide clear elastic as long as your waist plus 4” (10 cm) (or other lightweight, soft braided or knit elastic)
- One 3/4” (1.9 cm) jean or regular button
Fabric Requirements
Most natural fibers shrink in the wash; be sure to have enough fabric. The requirements below assume that the fabric is already pre-shrunk.

How to choose your size
- Compare your waist circumference (narrowest part) to the “Body Measurements” table. Choose the size that best fits your waist. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size if you like your garment more fitted; otherwise, choose the bigger size.
- Compare your hip circumference (widest part) to the “Body Measurements” table. Choose the size that fits your hip best. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size if you like your garment more fitted; otherwise, choose the bigger size.
- It’s OK to use different sizes for the waist and hip. The instructions for blending sizes are included in the pattern.
- If you are taller or shorter than 5’6” (168 cm), you should consider lengthening or shortening the garment. The instructions for lengthening or shortening are included in the pattern.

Great pattern, really easy to follow. The only problem I had was putting the belt loops on – I couldn’t get through that many layers of fabric, even with a jeans needle. I just left them off though & it makes no difference.

Yet another amazing pattern! The fabric I chose was very stiff and unlikely to stay down when I walked so I elected to fully line the skirt and it turned out lovely. It was my first real fly and I was shocked that it came out perfectly. What excellent instructions! I plan to sew it again in the future.

This is my first Itch to Stitch pattern. The pattern has very clear instructions. I have average sewing skills and managed to blend two pattern sizes (2 and 6) together for a smaller waist. I love having the pockets and the fit is great.
I have just finished making this skirt in a woven stretch cotton for playing golf.

This is the first time that I do not need to change anything on a skirt pattern. I made a size 10.
The first skirt is almost ready, and I definitely will make two more before I go on holiday in July, one with topstitching and edgestitching in a contrast color and the other one from a multicolor fabric.
So, the pattern itself is very good, and your instructions made it go like a breeze. As indicated above, it gives me back my sewing Mojo.
The other pattern I still need to make, so I will not yet comment on that one.

Excellent instructions, loved the construction of the fly. I would say I’m a confident beginner sewist and this was a great pattern for me. I made a size 14 based on my measurements and it fit nicely. I was able to get the skirt out one yard of fabric, but had to make the inner waistband out of another fabric in my stash. Thank you for such a cute skirt pattern!

First off, overall I love your patterns. My only complaint/suggestion would be the ability to use for projector sewing. I’m enjoying the ability to cut the pattern directly to fabric without printing. My problem is trying to make personal adjustments (ie: shorten length and grade between sizes). While I understand and respect your need to maintain the integrity of your labors I need to create workarounds to make the process work for me. Thanks for creating such wonderful designs and i look forward to your next pattern.
