I highly recommend that you check your fit by making a test garment with inexpensive fabrics that have similar weight and stretch as your final garment fabrics.
Primary Fabric Use lightweight denim, linen, poplin, twill, crepe and gabardine silk dupioni or other medium weight woven fabric with or without stretch. Use slightly lighter weight fabric for View D and View E.
Lining Use lightweight woven fabric such as twill, broadcloth or quilting cotton.
Interfacing Use lightweight woven or weft-insertion interfacing.
Most natural fibers shrink in the wash; be sure to have enough fabric. The requirements below assume that the fabric is already pre-shrunk. Due to the width of the pattern pieces, it is not recommended to use 45" (115 cm) wide fabric for sizes 14 to 20.

I did a pair of shorts in a cotton first to check sizing and then made the skort in a knit. I think I will go down one size if making in a knit again. Pattern was easy to follow.

I made view D for my teenage daughter and we are both thrilled with them! The instructions were very clear. I am part of a sewing class, but normally rely on my sewing teacher telling me what the next step is because the instructions with commercial patterns can be less than ideal. I made the skorts up on my own at home, and even managed to “fit” them to my daughter’s size. I had never come across a layer pattern before… what a great idea. It made the whole process so much easier. I will definitely be making more of these.
