  1. Eugenie

The simple structure of the Orono top – one back piece and two cross-over front pieces plus sleeves – made it sort of fun and slightly magical when it came together. I substituted a self-drafted facing for the collar and nixed the pockets because there would be just too much material at the hip.
The instructions were clear. It’s a novel structure achieved fairly easily.

  2. Michelle

This pattern went together easily and instructions were easy to follow. I love the style of this top which I made in a French terry.

  3. Terri

    love this pattern

  4. Nicole

The pattern was very clear and the layers for different sizes was a great addition. The instructions were great, although I got confused at the pocket part but I think that was my issue, not the pattern’s!

  5. Sheena

Lovely pattern. So easy to follow. Thankyou

  6. Julia

Lovely pattern that is very well drafted. It was a joy to sew.

  7. apbaughan@gmail.com

Easy to sew pattern with excellent instructions. I was very happy with this pattern and purchase and will definitely purchase from Kenny’s again.

  8. patricia cugnod

    perfect pattern

  9. Susan

I used a brushed French Terry which ended up being a bit thick for both my sewing machine (Bernina 720) and my overlocker (Babylock). Next time I will try with something not so thick.

  10. Janet

I have had this pattern since April and am just now getting around to sewing it. I couldn’t love it more!! If a sweatshirt can be elegant, this one surely is. It is beautifully drafted, has excellent and clear sewing instructions, and sizing is spot on. I expect that I will be sewing multiples of this top. Thank you, Kennis, for your beautiful design.

  11. Tanya M. Lewison

The end result is simply lovely, and even better, it’s super comfortable to wear and flattering. True to size. The written instructions were quite clear; the pockets went in easy, and using a knit fusible (I used Pellon EK130 — cut on the bias for all but the pocket area) did a great job of stabilizing the seams without adding bulk.

  12. Holly

Easy to follow directions. Nice fit. Love this top!

  13. Christine

I have only recently discovered Itch to Stitch and I love these patterns. Started with Lamma and just made this one. Did both in sweatshirt fabric for winter but they would work equally well in a lighter fabric. Only bugbear is having to print and stick the patterns – nowhere local to get them printed. Also impressed by the reasonable pricing.

  14. Dawn

The sizing square was way off; too large by about 3/8″ I am not sure how to adjust – make a smaller size or make the size I wanted and hope it fits? Haven’t started this process because of the glitch.

Usually, this is a printer issue. HP is notorious for the problem. I suggest you update your printer software and re-install the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. If all else fails, I suggest you try using another printer.

  15. Ana

What drew me to this pattern was the simple but beautiful design with its cross over front detail, great to sew as are all the patterns I have currently purchased.

  16. Virginia

This was FUN to make! It’s also the only pattern that I have ever made that did not require any alterations to the paper. The fit was perfect! Directions are excellent. Already thinking about making it again.

  17. Angela

Love all my Itch to Stitch patterns and the Orono top was no exception. I love the design with the petal front which makes it a bit different from a regular sweatshirt. The instructions were really clear with illustrations which I find very helpful and the fit is excellent. It feels very comfortable to wear

  18. Joan

  19. Abigail

    Love it

  20. Tecla

Love this top–design is different, not same ol’ same ol’.

  40. Sharon

Great pattern. I am so happy with how mine turned out. I have been wearing it a lot since I have made it. Everything on the pattern matched up perfectly. I blogged about my top here: http://www.sweetmamalife.com/2019/02/itch-to-stitch-orono-sewing-winter.html

  41. Ilse

The Orono is a great pattern addition for my spring wardrobe because sometimes it can really be cold. The inseam pockets are genius! Thank you!

  42. Joan

Love how this pattern went together. The unusual design inspired me enough to purchase and grade up a size. I have more planned as it is lovely as a light warmer layer. Pockets are perfect! More inclusive sizing would get 5 stars from me! And likely more sales.

I like the design of the Orono Sweater it is attractive as well as being very practical. Your pdf’s are easy to use and the instructions are very comprehensive.

  44. Diane

My Oronos are warm and comfortable. I love the dart on the raglan sleeves and the petal front. Easy to sew and I can always depend on the size chart. It’s a winner!

  45. Aimee

I love the Orono Top! It’s great for knits with just a little stretch. See photos of the ones I made on my blog at https://thesewingscientist.blogspot.com/2019/02/itch-to-stitch-orono-top.html

  47. Nicole

Easy and comfort top, good instructions will lead you to make a perfect garment.

  48. Anonymous

This is a beautiful and unique pattern. It’s a bit complicated but once I read through the directions and carefully thought about the pattern, it made perfect sense. It is a challenge to find the correct fabric for this pattern, but when you do the results are beautiful!

  49. Anonymous

I love how current & timeless are your patterns; love the ease to grade sizes; especially love readily available help via a message or post.

  50. Christine

Another fabulous, comfortable ITS pattern. Casual yet feminine styling. I’ve already made one, and have another one planned in a lighter knit for spring. Love this!

  51. Audrey

Your patterns pages paste together so easily that I know when they arrive that it’s going to be fun projects to do! In my case very little alterations to do which is unusual for someone so short as I. My fav company???

  52. Anonymous

I loved the ease with which one can construct this sweater and am very happy with how it turned out. Kennis’s designs are so clever, and I learn something new about sewing when I do each pattern for the first time. The only thing that I would add to make it easier for a beginning sewer is a little more detail in the explanation on constructing the pockets. I think that I am pocket-challenged, as this is something that I have to think about carefully when reading a pattern from all companies. I enjoyed sewing this top, and plan to make additional Orono tops in other colors! It’s a great addition to my winter wardrobe!

  53. Ilyn

This pattern is easy to put together, I love the pockets. The instruction is easy to follow and has clear illustrations. Great pattern indeed!

  54. Marybeth

A stylish and comfy addition to my wardrobe. Super easy to make because of the thorough instructions. I made two!!

  55. Carol

I just have to say, not only do I love your patterns, but the written directions are the best in the industry. I love the finished garment measurements and the sizing, which always result in choosing the best size. The illustrations are perfect and accurate. I plan to be a long-time customer!
