If you are looking for a lightweight, breathable and flattering garment for the summer, look no further than the Nittany Top! There is something extra sweet about a pleated neckline, and you can choose to add the keyhole for even more interest. An optional sash allows you to cinch the top at the waist, but it will look super cute if you skip the sash and wear a belt with it. Alternatively, tuck (or half-tuck) the top in your favorite jeans for a casual look!

Nittany Top Features:

  • Options for cup sizes
  • Pleated round neckline
  • Optional keyhole at the center front neckline
  • Short sleeves
  • Shirttail hem
  • Optional Sash
  • Partially-lined in the front
  • Designed for lightweight woven fabric

A great all round top that will go with just about everything.

  2. Nancy

    perfect

  3. Candy

I made this in a lovely rayon fabric. It fits perfectly and the instructions were extremely well written. You are my favorite pattern designer!

  4. Jean

This top is a classic piece. It is simple but with a different neckline that will make a stand-alone top or look good under an open shirt or a jacket. It will make up in anything from a casual rayon/cotton to a fine silk and will be timeless.

  5. Helena

Pleats make the top and work out when you take your time and baste as you go.

  6. Judith

    Well written instructions. Great pattern.

  7. Bronwyn

    Very happy

  8. Marilyn

Have now made three of these, two for my daughter and one for myself. Will be making more.

  9. catherine

fait dans un crêpon de viscose ,à refaire mais je recherche le bon tissu

Front was too wide. Extra fabric in center front at neck and bust was too much. Would like to have more smaller pleats at neckline rather than 2 on each side. Overall, a much better pattern than any others I’ve tried to fit over my DD bust. It fit well through the neck and armhole.

  11. Françoise

Joli et des options pour avoir un top sur-mesure.

  12. Shiek Hamida

    Good dear, keep them coming♥️

  15. Teresa

The Nittany pattern fit very well with few adjustments and the instructions are so wonderfully written. Bravo for taking the time to made a quality pattern!

  16. Anonymous

Beautiful pattern! As always Kennis’ directions are flawless. Don’t pass this by thinking it would be difficult to make. Just wish there was a long sleeve option to span the seasons.

  17. Vicki

    Great directions! Enjoyed making!

  18. Margo

Very detailed instructions, particularly for the pleats. Only issue I had was I am used to 5/8″ seams so I had to be extra careful. Love the different cup sizing on the pattern. Only adjustment I made was I shortened it for my petite frame.

  19. Tiina

    Nice and elegant!

  20. Katherine

Runs a little big but easy to make and looks great!

  21. Patsy Hanson

I made a very wearable muslin. Now deciding on special fabric

  22. Sabine

A great pattern with wonderful instructions. As always, with Itch to Stitch patterns. I sewed a blouse from a fine silk and am very happy with it. I will sew this pattern a few more times.

  23. Jos

How to choose your size

  1. Determine your cup size—subtract the circumference of your over bust from the circumference of the fullest part of your bust. If the rounded difference is 1″ (2.5 cm), use A cup; 2″ (5 cm), use B cup; 3″ (7.5 cm), use C cup; 4″ (10 cm), use D cup; 5″ (12.5 cm), use DD cup.
  2. After determining the cup size, compare your bust circumference (fullest part) to the “Body Measurements” table. Using the corresponding row for your cup, choose the size that best fits your bust. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size if you like your garment more fitted; otherwise, choose the bigger size.
  3. Compare your waist circumference (narrowest part) to the “Body Measurements” table. Choose the size that best fits your waist. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size if you like your garment more fitted; otherwise, choose the bigger size.
  4. Compare your hip circumference (widest part) to the “Body Measurements” table. Choose the size that fits your hip best. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size if you like your garment more fitted; otherwise, choose the bigger size.
  5. It’s OK to use different sizes for the bust, waist and hip. The instructions for blending sizes are included in the pattern.
  6. If you are taller or shorter than 5’6” (168 cm), you should consider lengthening or shortening the garment. The instructions for lengthening or shortening are included in the pattern.
