Material

Primary fabric Use medium-weight 2-way or 4-way drapey knit fabric with at least 50% width-wise stretch. For example, your fabric, when folded in half, should be able to stretch from 4" to at least 6" (10 cm to 15 cm). Matte jersey, jersey and ITY knit are good choices. Woven fabrics are not recommended.

Other Materials

  • 1 1⁄2"-wide (4 cm-wide) knit elastic as long as your waist - you can go up to 1 3⁄4"-wide (5 cm-wide), but do not use narrower elastic

  • Ball-point or stretch machine needles

Fabric Requirements

    I foolishly made this skirt with cotton. Boy this was very difficult to make. I had to keep taking it the sides of the skirt and for some reason my pattern didn’t really line up. I did get it make and it’s snug , more snug when i sit. but i love , love , love the design. I printed it out again in color, i do not understand how to print from adobe , i tried. but i will try again with stretch material. I am sure it will be darling. Thank you .

How to choose your size

  1. Compare your waist circumference (narrowest part) to the “Body Measurements” table. Choose the size that best fits your waist. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size if you like your garment more fitted; otherwise, choose the bigger size.
  2. Compare your hip circumference (widest part) to the “Body Measurements” table. Choose the size that fits your hip best. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size if you like your garment more fitted; otherwise, choose the bigger size.
  3. It’s OK to use different sizes for the bust, waist and hip. The instructions for blending sizes are included in the pattern.
  4. If you are taller or shorter than 5’6” (168 cm), you should consider lengthening or shortening the garment. The instructions for lengthening or shortening are included in the pattern.
