  1. Taeyla

Purchase process was seamless, easy and quick. So far I have toile’d this as a size 10 and it was easy to sew, instructions were clear. I have some questions about the intended fit at crotch level which I will contact you separately about. I will be making these as long pants! Thank you

  2. Vicki

Great directions! Great fit! Love them!

For those of us that prefer a little more coverage in a short this is the perfect pattern. It mimics a skirt making it the perfect garden party pattern. You will be cool, covered, and stylish! Kennis has great directions for making the button fly making it a easy sew even if you haven’t made one before.

  4. Suzanne

    Again, clear and easy instructions.

  5. rloharris

This is a fun sewing project, looks gorgeous sewn up and you can use standard buttons or metal snaps for a different look, I am sewing up my 2nd version

  6. Ana

A wonderful pattern: very clear & concise instructions. I highly recommend. Great to play around with the length to suit your style.

  7. Sharon Spell

Instructions did not follow through clearly for pocket instructions as well as fly front. Perhaps it is just me but I am on my second muslin. The first was unsolvable. Even though I have had these problems I like the culottes. I really needed a sew along just to visualize the process.

Hi Sharon, I am sorry that the culottes didn’t fit you well. I am sure with perseverance, you will succeed. And if you are off the chart, I’d like to let you know that I am testing the Mountain View Pull-on Jeans in expanded size now. Perhaps that will fit you better; it’s also an easier sew (with no buttons and no zipper). I don’t have any video tutorials usually.

  8. Maria

Lots of pattern pieces to adjust for an ideal fit.

  9. Alma

    Perfection

  10. Mary

So stylish!! Love that they can be made as a dress up pair, casual or below the knees for those over 50!

  11. Kristine

  13. J.Tillotson

    Great pattern

  14. Ann

Love the style of these culottes. They are quite different to other patterns on the market. I used to have a pair of rtw very similar many years ago togather with a matching sleeveless top.

  15. Jennie

Brilliant pattern easy to follow sizing good

  16. Shelby

Thanks, Kennis, for designing this versatile casual culotte. I made a couple of adjustments for my petite size, lengthened them a little for the fall season and my age appropriateness, and they fit perfectly! Your instructions were clear, well illustrated and complete. The only misstep I had was with the peak in the back waist area, but an evaluation of what the finished product should look like solved the problem.
I have made the Busan and Paulina Tops. Both are well designed and fun to make.
Your designs are stylish and useful for many ages. I look forward to what you design next. Now, off to make the Atenas Jacket to go with the Gobi Culotte!

  17. Kadri

Really nice culottes with a lot of pretty details and option to make these as long as you want to! 🙂

  18. Jolien

Detailed pattern with clear instructions. If you’ll follow those, the end result will look like the photo’s. It’s the best of both worlds in my opinion, looks like a (well fitting) skirt, but you can cycle in them, without risking awkward moments.

    I love this pattern!

  3. It’s OK to use different sizes for the bust, waist and hip. The instructions for blending sizes are included in the pattern.
  4. If you are taller or shorter than 5’6” (168 cm), you should consider lengthening or shortening the garment. The instructions for lengthening or shortening are included in the pattern.
