How to choose your size
Jolene –
A very quick sew ! Sometimes a few-pattern-pieces project can turn into a frustrating mess, not so with the Soller Top & Dress pattern. One evening I’m sewing, the next morning I’m out riding my horse in a comfortable chic T shirt. Was a bit hesitant about the V-neck…..those can go wrong real quick, but first try I had success. Just pay attention to the clear instructions ( especially page 17- 18 neck binding). Using my new disappearing ink with hot iron pens is a new game changer for me. Very precise marking for the elastic and the 3/8 inch stay stitching at the V.
The only thing I found difficult was holding the elastic stretched out to the very end while sewing. Maybe next time I’ll mark the elastic , but not cut it, holding it with needle nose pliers. My problem could have been that my right hand index finger joint was sore to begin with. One thing I did extra was serged in at the back neckline 1/8” ribbon so my light weight knit would not stretch out of shape, same at the shoulders.

As usual, darling pattern! I made the dress from a black wool blend jersey. I had difficulty constructing the neck band as instructed. I was not able to turn it under and stitch-in-the ditch neatly, so I simply finished it as I would any neck band. Regardless. The gathers at the front create a simply elegant finish to Soller. The pattern works well on my hourglass figure, and I hope to make more.

I finally made my first Soller top and I’m just thrilled. I used a lightweight cotton ponte. As usual, the instructions are clear and detailed. There is enough information that I was able to make a couple of adjustments to suit my taste; in particular I graded to a size larger than I needed at the hips because I don’t like tops clinging to my hips. I also used Kennis’ tutorial to raise the vee neck by two inches. Along with my usual forward shoulder adjustment, these gave me a shirt that I just love. I look forward to more! Thank you, Kennis.

Used a cotton spandex fabric to make this up. Loved the pattern can’t wait to make up another.

Simple yet stylish.

Loved this so much I had to share my enthusiasm on my YouTube channel, So Carole. So many people raved about your patterns too.
Shari –
Love that you offer bust adjustments on your patterns and the easy to follow instructions

Made a size 18. No alterations to pattern. Couldn’t find length of elastic. I think I used 6 or 7 inches.

As with all your patterns, stylish and easy to sew, with clear instructions.

A very easy sew, with a simplified Vneck technique that I appreciate. I’ve already made two of these upgraded Tshirts. One in basic black jersey knit, and one in a fall-color floral. Thank you!

Loved the style, easy to make and will be making another one. Takes very little fabric. Thank you.
Cheryl –
Great pattern. I’ve made 3. Perfect top for casual wear or layering.
Katie –
Another fantastic, easy summer top! Thank you!!
Kadri –
Love this easy to sew and wear top. The elastic on the shoulder gives some interest and makes the neckline beautiful.

This is my favourite ‘fancy’ t-shirt. It is quick and easy to construct and super flattering. All of the Itch -to -Stitch patterns I have tried so far have required minimal (if any) fitting alterations and the instructions are always clear and well illustrated.
Donna –
Love the fit and the style. Sewing your patterns is so stress free! Once I figured out which adjustments I needed to fit me ( not many which never happens!) I’ve been able to apply those same adjustments to any of your patterns I’ve sewn. I’ve been sewing for 30+ years and have never had such consistent results. Thanks so much!!

Beautifully written and easy to follow.

I love this top. I have made 5 of them so far. Some with cotton lycra, some with athletic fabric. The shoulder detail is so flattering. The V is not too deep, just the perfect length. I love that I only need a yard of fabric and it is such a quick sew. I am replacing a lot of my RTW tops with this one as it is so flattering.
