Primary Fabric Use lightweight woven fabric such as shirting, rayon challis, chambray and lightweight linen. The gathers on the garment are more pronounced if using a crisper fabric and less pronounced if using a softer fabric; choose based on your preference. The sleeve is cut in one piece; if the fabric is one-directional, it will be upside down in the back.
Fabric Requirements
Most natural fibers shrink in the wash; be sure to have enough fabric. The requirements below assume that the fabric is already pre-shrunk.

How to choose your size
Determine if you should use the regular bust front pieces or the full-bust front pieces—subtract the circumference of your over bust from the circumference of the fullest part of your bust. If the rounded difference is 3″ (7.5 cm) or less, use regular bust; if it is more than 3″ (7.5 cm), use full bust.
Compare your bust circumference (fullest part) to the “Body Measurements” table. Using the regular-bust row or full-bust row as determined above, choose a size based on your full bust measurement. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size. This is your base size for the entire garment.
See “Blend Sizes” in the instructions if you need more room for your hip.

Really nice top for flowy fabric.

This Lemont top is one of my favorite patterns. I think I now have 3 tops I love! I have no waist really and this top gives me shape, like an hourglass shape. I am a sturdy 65 yr. old woman and I get compliments all the time when I wear one of my sewn Lemont tops. I’m 5’7″ and so had to lengthen it 2″. It’s wonderful.

Beautiful and unique design every wardrobe needs. As always Kennis provides detailed directions.
Carol –
Love your patterns. I sew for my 2 nieces to build up their work wardrobe. They love the styles you offer and because you offer such a variety of sizes, they can both have the same blouse style but in different sizes. One is a 10 DDD and the other is a 18 DD. Keep up the good work! You make my job so easy (but don’t tell the girls that!).
Caroline –
It’s such a nice top to sew, a woven top that is as easy as a t-shirt! Well almost… The option for a full bust was very welcome and I found it was a good fit with no alterations. I might try another taking in a little bit of the seam at waist level on the front princess seams to fit slightly slimmer. As ever the instructions are very clear. I wondered whether the neck binding would lie flat but of course because it’s cut on the bias it has enough give to pull naturally into shape. I made my wearable toile in a large gingham check and I love the way the pattern changes on the sides. It’s genius pattern cutting.
Cathy –
The Lemont top that I made went together very nicely in a light weight crinkle cotton but unfortunately I don’t really like how it looks on me 😕
Christine –
Ideally, I would have loved instructions on how to do a small bust adjustment or had an A-cup bust option available. Otherwise, I love it. All the instructions were very clear. I was easily able to grade from one size to next size in the hips by following your instructions.
Mary –
Love it! It was a little tricky blending the sizes, but the pattern explained it perfectly. I will make this again!
Margaret –
I like the princess lines of the top but there was SO much fabric under the arms that I ended up totally recutting it. It just looked shapeless with the dolman sleeve. Now that I have a more defined sleeve and a LOT less fabric under the armpit, I like it very much.
Catherine –
I loved the pattern but I will make the next one longer
Catherine –
Lovely pattern, easy to follow instructions, finished mine in record time 😃
Kristina –
With only 5 pieces to cut out and sew, this pattern makes a quick and easy sew And it’s a beautiful top! I love the ease and simplicity of the design. There are no button holes, elastics, or zippers to contend with! Dress it up or down with a variety of fabrics. I made my first Lemont top using a linen/ rayon blend. It’s perfect for a casual summer day. I am planning on making my next Lemont with something more dressy.
Thanks Kennis, for another great pattern!
Ita –
Stylish but easy to sew.
Siobhan –
Great top sewing pattern. Instructions are very clear. I’m making my second one already.
Emily –
I was inspired to make this top after seeing Karina’s versions @liftingpinsandneedles. I used a chiffon in a kind of abstract stripe print and I just love it. I didn’t have to make any adjustments. The princess seams and dolman sleeves are very flattering. I did do French seams. I will make this top again!
Anne –
great pattern.
maria –
Love this pattern! The sleeves are beautiful. Easy to fit and wonderful to wear.
Brigetta –
I made this top on the weekend, it is such an easy quick sew. The fit is fantastic and it is such a classy looking top which can be worn both casually or for work. I absolutely love it.
karen –
The first one I made the wrong size, to big. So I’ll cut a smaller size and try again. Its so easy to construct
Sharon –
Great pattern. Very quick and easy to sew up, I liked the construction
Ellen –
Cute and clever! I’ll need to add one inch length next time (I’m 5’7” with a long torso)
Terri –
Beautiful details & a fun pattern to make!
Colleen –
Nice and easy to assemble.
Lana –
This was the first time I sewed a pattern the first day I ordered it 🙂 loved it – unique but easy to sew and fit and silhouette are perfect. Thank you!!

Great pattern and instructions!!
As always, “Itch to Stitch” delivers perfection.
Easy to adjust patterns to fit my “pear” shape-and I get tons of compliments wherever I go-people are so surprised when I tell them-“I made it”!! :+)
Karin –
The shirt became very beautiful and comfortable. On the next shirt, I’ll make the waist longer. He got a belt at the moment. I liked the constructions where the waist was extended and it was curved.
Joan –
Practically perfect pattern! I usually shorten patterns by 2 inches, but just took off one inch. I made three already.
Ann –
I love this pattern, it’s just what I was looking for. I look forward to get many more patterns.
Wendy –
Beautiful pattern!
Maree –
