This looks just what I’ve been looking for.

  5. ebgracie77

I am so happy with how professional this turned out. Everything looks so clean and well finished! It’s involved but every step is laid out and you end up with a coat that is beautifully finished and lovely. I had a hard time understanding some of the steps so turned to a YouTube sewalong by Lifting Pins and Needles. The only issue I had was the collar pieces in the 16-40 size pattern were mislabeled; however, I sent out a distress call via the Itch to Stitch Facebook and got a reply over the weekend. After going back and forth on what the issue might be, found that error. Was told it would be fixed in the pattern… so if you’re bigger, like me, look for an updated pattern.

I’m in love with Itch to Stitch patterns! They fit me so well. I hardly have to make any adjustments. The instructions are so on point and clear to understand. Also I find Kennis’ designs to be amazingly beautiful with so many possibilities. Her designs fit any generation. Can’t wait to see what she comes out with next! 😍

  7. Kadri

I love the shape and design lines of this coat. I made one and I plan to make more. I found the instructions were great, it was my first time to sew a proper lined coat and I think everything was explained well. I’m loving my coat and can’t wait to wear it when it gets colder.

    Beautiful pattern; good instructions

  19. undukas

I made my Lagan coat from wool blend fabric. It was the first fully lined coat that I ever made and I’m absolutely thrilled that I managed to finish it and get a beautiful coat that really fits me. The illustrations and instructions are so well thought through.
I like the style of Lagan too, it looks like classic coat, feminine and pretty.

  20. Elsa Pomar

Sewing a coat is never a small feat, but the Lagan pattern made it so much easier with clear instructions and beautiful drafting. I made mine over one month, in a luxurious 100% wool fabric, and it ended exactly as I had envisioned.

I did my usual alterations for my narrow shoulders/short torso self and everything is spot-on.

How to choose your size

  1. Determine your cup size—subtract the circumference of your over bust from the circumference of the fullest part of your bust. If the rounded difference is 1″ (2.5 cm), use A cup; 2″ (5 cm), use B cup; 3″ (7.5 cm), use C cup; 4″ (10 cm), use D cup; 5″ (12.5 cm), use DD cup.
  2. After determining the cup size, compare your bust circumference (fullest part) to the “Body Measurements” table. Using the corresponding row for your cup, choose the size that best fits your bust. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size if you like your garment more fitted; otherwise, choose the bigger size.
  3. Compare your waist circumference (narrowest part) to the “Body Measurements” table. Choose the size that best fits your waist. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size if you like your garment more fitted; otherwise, choose the bigger size.
  4. Compare your hip circumference (widest part) to the “Body Measurements” table. Choose the size that fits your hip best. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size if you like your garment more fitted; otherwise, choose the bigger size.
  5. It’s OK to use different sizes for the bust, waist and hip. The instructions for blending sizes are included in the pattern.
  6. If you are taller or shorter than 5’6” (168 cm), you should consider lengthening or shortening the garment. The instructions for lengthening or shortening are included in the pattern.
