Finished Garment Measurements

Choosing Your Size

  1. Determine your cup size—subtract the circumference of your over bust from the circumference of the fullest part of your bust. If the rounded difference is 1″ (2.5 cm), use A cup; 2″ (5 cm), use B cup; 3″ (7.5 cm), use C cup; 4″ (10 cm), use D cup; 5″ (12.5 cm), use DD cup.
  2. After determining the cup size, compare your bust circumference (fullest part) to the “Body Measurements” table. Using the corresponding row for your cup, choose the size that best fits your bust. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size if you like your garment more fitted; otherwise, choose the bigger size.
  3. Compare your waist circumference (narrowest part) to the “Body Measurements” table. Choose the size that best fits your waist. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size.
  4. Compare your hip circumference (widest part) to the “Body Measurements” table. Choose the size that fits your hip best. If you are in between sizes, choose the smaller size.
  5. It’s OK to use different sizes for the bust and hip. See “Blend Sizes” in instructions for details.
  6. If you are taller or shorter than 5’6” (168 cm), you should consider lengthening or shortening the top (see instructions for details).

I highly recommend that you check your fit by making a test garment with inexpensive fabric that has similar weight and drape as your final garment fabric.

Primary Fabric Use stable, lightweight, woven fabric. Lawn, lightweight shirting, lightweight chambray are great choices.

Contrast Fabric Use very lightweight woven fabric, such as lawn, batiste and voile. The contrast fabric is used for the front and back bias tapes and will not be visible from the right side of the garment. You may also use the same fabric as the primary fabric if your primary fabric is very lightweight.

Interfacing Use tricot interfacing

Super details for accurate measuring of body And choosing the correct size. Excellent instructions. Really pleased with the garment especially the fit. Loved the layered pdf.

Unlike other itch to stitch tops, I had trouble with the fit of this pattern. Particularly the back is a little wonky and I think it might be due to the combination of my wide shoulders and these sleeves. However the front is looking good so I’ll wear it with a cardigan

  3. Anonymous (verified owner)

I love this pattern. I made the top and it was so easy and quite quick considering it was made using French seam method. I will definitely be making more tops and the dress version for Summer
