  1. Kate

I absolutely love this top and have made it five times!!! I have made it in a thinner jersey, a french jersey and a cable knit jersey. I even made it in a french jersey with a stretch lace overlay on the bodice. Each time they have sewn up beautifully. Perfect, simple pattern with great instructions.

  2. Ami

Beautiful drape and design. I had difficulty printing at 100% so I had to guess the cutting lines. Things turned out ok. I will make more in the future. You do great job!

  3. Jane

    Great! Beautifully drafted as usual!

  4. enerzen

Made with no closures (jacket) with a matching Spirren tank. Really cute sweater set.

  5. Teresa

This is my first clothing pattern to sew in 20 years and I am enjoying it so much!

An easy pattern, and worked up very quickly. Great instructions as per usual.

    Nice style for knit fabrics.

A classic basic! One of those patterns that doesn’t really grab your attention at first sight, but an excellent addition to my pattern stash. Printed off the pattern immediately and had a lightweight textured jersey in my stash that I used to make it up in. Decided I wanted to give it a little extra something, so added alternating burgundy and green buttons also from my stash. Tied it together with colour matching buttonholes and coverstitched hems.
Shortened the length slightly but that’s just the way I prefer my tops. No other adjustments required.
I absolutely love it and can see me making many more for well fitting day to day wear.

  11. Betty

Love the style and fit. Instructions were super easy. Thank you

    Beautiful pattern and great fit!

Foz top is a great wardrobe staple – you can sew it for the summer from a lightweight knit fabric, for spring and autumn as a top layer or for winter from a warmer knit fabric. You can easily wear it on its own with skirt or trousers and you can use it as a cardigan. The neckline isn’t too low either! I made one from blue fabric with leaves printed on and I definitely want more – one in black (or dark grey) and I have one natural white knit fabric waiting to turn into a Foz for the spring and summer. It’s going to be a favourite of mine πŸ™‚

This top is a must have for everyday! I know I’ll make this top over and over from summer to winter. It’s very comfortable to wear and a quick sew even with six buttons.

This has already become one of my absolute go to patterns! A must have in every wardrobe: a quick sew, ideal stashbuster and so comfortable to wear!

How to choose your size

  1. Determine if you should use the regular bust front pieces or the full-bust front piecesβ€”subtract the circumference of your over bust from the circumference of the fullest part of your bust. If the rounded difference is 3β€³ (7.5 cm) or less, use regular bust; if it is more than 3" (7.5 cm), use full bust.

  2. Compare your bust circumference (fullest part) to the β€œBody Measurements” table. Using the corresponding row for your bust (regular bust or full bust), choose the size that best fits your bust. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size if you like your garment more fitted; otherwise, choose the bigger size.

  3. Compare your waist circumference (narrowest part) to the β€œBody Measurements” table. Choose the size that best fits your waist. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size if you like your garment more fitted; otherwise, choose the bigger size.

  4. Compare your hip circumference (widest part) to the β€œBody Measurements” table. Choose the size that fits your hip best. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size if you like your garment more fitted; otherwise, choose the bigger size.

  5. It’s OK to use different sizes for the bust, waist and hip. The instructions for blending sizes are included in the pattern.

  6. If you are taller or shorter than 5’6” (168 cm), you should consider lengthening or shortening the garment. The instructions for lengthening or shortening are included in the pattern.
