I recommend adding to the procedure that procedures can be seen on YouTube. Steps 5 and 7 have different locations of the stay tape. Before step 24, verify centering of yoke and stuffing of step 25. Various photos for previous projects showed the yoke looking uneven. The extra attention provided a clean finish. The keyhole buckles forward with forward movement. Could penny weights be beneficial on the sleeves, perhaps? ( I shorten the top of the shoulder and raised the front/back for existing sleeve pattern to fit. (Size 8, full bust))

Hi Susan, thank you for your feedback. The illustrations in steps 5 and 7 are indeed consistent and correct. If yours doesn’t look the same, then I’m afraid you’ve flipped the piece.

Love the look of this pattern. I used a 4 way stretch knit and added a flair to the skirt as well as pockets. I followed the instructions and binded all edges around the neckline with tape. I used a knit interfacing in the front yoke for stability. When I went to slip it on over my head, it was extremely tight. I ended up taking the neck edge apart and binding it all around with a narrow jersey strip as well as inserting a slit in the centre back and it’s great! My first attempt at sewing this brand of pattern.

Love the shaping of this design. I like the sizing and amount of ease; much better most patterns. I would like the patterns better if the bust point and waist and hip levels were included.

I do not like the way the front yoke attaches to the back piece. It does not look smooth and sleek like a professional garment would look. It should be more cohesive. I also think the front triangle piece should be optional for say a two tone garment. It makes it look like a patch on a garment of one color. When you look at it on this photo you don’t really see it so it doesn’t jump out at you like when you actually see it up close. I paid way too much for a pattern that I am so unhappy with.

Loved my latest ITS make of the new Brisbane top! A couple of minor adjustments for my petite frame, but as always, the directions were excellent. I have made several ITS patterns and always pleased with the quality and styles.

I tried this 5 times and just couldn’t get the pattern to work for my body. I have to take two inches off between my shoulders and bust. (For every pattern company, not just you). I really like this look but either the neck was too tight or too floppy. The shoulders pulled in too much or the keyhole had wrinkles coming down from the neck. The problem is my body and I am just not good enough adjusting patterns for me.

I sewed the Brisbane top in a lovely cotton knit with a bit of elastan. It was perfect! I do love a top with a twist and the keyhole is amazing. It’s not tricky if you follow the instructions.

Usually I love every one of the itch to stitch patterns I purchase— not this one. I found the instructions difficult to follow in regards to the neckline. I watched a video by Karina at Lifting Pins and Needles on how to do the neckline. I sew with perfect in mind…lol..but I could not get the back neckline to line up perfectly with the front. So disappointed.
