New Pattern: Nazare Zip-up Hoodie
I am excited to release the first Itch to Stitch pattern of 2023! Please welcome the Nazare Zip-up Hoodie!
The Nazare is perfect to wear whether you want to stay in or work out. I’ve been wearing my Nazare since it was fresh off the sewing machine. I think it’s also a great companion for traveling; it will keep you comfortable on the plane, train, or car.
Nazare Zip-up Hoodie Features:
- Options for regular bust and full bust
- Diagonal front seam lines for style and fit
- Large front patch pockets with curved openings
- Front exposed zipper
- Ample two-piece hood
- Long sleeves with cuffs
- Bottom band
- Designed for sweatshirting and stable knit fabric
For one week (through January 29, 2023), the Nazare Zip-up Hoodie pattern is 20% off. The volume discount still applies—get 15% off your entire cart if your purchase is $20 or more, or 20% off your entire cart if your purchase is $30 or more.
My favorite feature of the Nazare is the interesting seams. These seams are more than just pretty details; they also provide shaping for the bust so you can get a nice fit! The big pockets are cute and quick to sew too.
The testers made some beautiful versions of the Nazare; they always give me great inspiration.
Thank you so much for your help!

Kennis~
I normally am not a fan of hoodies as I am quite small, five feet one, and a very petite size -however a size D to double D bra ( 31,DD to be exact) and easily overwhelmed by boxiness I make everything to fit shoulders, than work from there bc everything hangs from them in my experience that is, My mother was a tailor and I learned this from her, I had practically given up sewing for myself, bc of all the alterations I had to do, which saddened me because my mother taught me to love of fine fabrics with simple attractive lines~ always those classic timeless lines, So why the hoodie?I I currently live a semi tropical climate now, so this is absolutely PERFECT for a grab and go type jacket for myself w jeans and long walk/run the dogs type clothing,,,,,,but great for gift sewing! I can make this out of
French Terry or perhaps a dressier look as some of your models did to toss on over jean skirts/shorts or simple skirts (Truly, they ARE lovely as professional models!)
Moreover, I love the idea of diff jacket types for diff moods AND I love the more petite look of this length but can make it for a DIL who is almost 6 ft tall, fitting her specific bust measurements/height and desired ease also! This is a great gift for those team college colors also! While I prefer a much more fitted hoodie and will size accordingly, some on my gift list prefer larger, longer and heavier fabrics (think Michigan winters!) While many would overlook a s hoodie pattern this is not simply another run of the mill hoodie It’s all about the great lines of this design., Once again, thank you()!!) have not ignored the small sizes w larger bust sizes and managed to combine the advantage for gifts for others w a few simple measurements I Love all your patterns since I started to use them, Favorite patterns thus far are Hepburn T shirt, the very feminine gored skirt and Tallin dress and t top Love your work and attention to detail, Sincere apologies for the length of this, but I really wanted to give credit where credit is due! Good sewing to all.
This is very cute! I wish it had a short sleeve option. Sometimes I only need another layer to take the chill off in the mornings. Any ideas how this could be done?
Wow! I need this pattern! Love hoodies🥰
I love the beautiful lines of this jacket! I just ordered some Power Stretch Polartec Fleece. It has 75% horizontal and 75% vertical stretch. Do you think it would work for this pattern?
Hi Janet, if your fabric has good recovery, I think it should be fine. I think something called “power stretch” should have pretty good recovery. If it doesn’t have a strong recovery, I would go down a size.
This pattern appeals to me. Use your imagination for fabric mixes. The lines give the front a new interest in hoodies. Also like the short look. I am very short and so may not have to many alterations to make
Love the variety and creativity of all the hoodies! Where do your testers find their fabulous fabrics? I can’t seem to find anything but plain fabrics where I am….
Hi Stephanie, my testers come from different countries in the world, so they don’t buy from a certain vendor. Because of the tight timeline of testing, most of them use fabric from their stash, which could be years old and no longer offered. However, you can join us in the Itch to Stitch Facebook group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/ItchToStitchDesigns) and ask the question. People can give you some general advice on their favorite online fabric stores.
If you wanted a longer hoodie, where would you add length?
Hi Barbara, I would add it below the waist.
The testers are quite inspiring! This looks like a pattern I’m going to purchase straight away before seeing any tutorials or makes videos! The style lines are lovely! Thank you, Kennis, for another knock-it-out-of the park pattern. 💗
I don’t generally wear hoodies or sweatshirts, but the details in this hoodie make me want to make one! Great pattern Kennis…
