Introducing the Talavera Blouse PDF Sewing Pattern
You know those days when you want to wear something pretty but still feel comfortable all day? That’s exactly what I had in mind when I designed the Talavera Blouse! It has a lovely feminine look, with soft gathers and a classic collar, but it’s made from knit fabric, so it’s comfortable and easy to wear. I can see myself wearing it with jeans for an everyday outing or dressing it up with a skirt or trousers. It’s one of those pieces that makes you feel a little more put together without trying too hard.
What makes Talavera especially exciting is that it’s the first blouse pattern designed specifically for knit fabric in the Itch to Stitch collection! Knit fabric brings something different to a blouse. Its natural drape and fluidity create a softer, more relaxed elegance than the sharp, crisp look of a woven blouse. You get a beautiful blouse that feels comfortable to wear, too.
And here’s another bonus: several testers commented that Talavera was much quicker to sew than they expected! There’s no sleeve placket to fuss with. The sleeves are finished with cuffs, making construction quicker and simpler while still giving the blouse those lovely gathered details.
