Of course you can always make two tops and try both styles of sleeves.

  • Boxy silhouette with a relaxed fit
  • Wide boat neckline
  • “Envelope fold” shoulders
  • High-low hem
  • Two sleeve options: 3/4 flute  and regular long
  • Layers feature (print only the sizes you need)

  1. Cheryle

    Nice basic

  2. Tracey

  3. Diane

Love this pattern!! All of Kennis’ patterns are divine, and instructions are always clear! You cannot go wrong with this pattern!

  4. Cynthia

    Very nice top!

  5. Shirley

I used a bamboo knit in a warm burgundy & am so pleased with the Newport top. Easy to follow instructions.

  6. Ann

I really enjoyed making my first Newport and it won’t be my last! The instructions were super easy to follow and the top – which I made in a sweater knit – looks great. I’m very petite and even the size 00 is a little roomy, so I’ll remove a tiny bit of ease next time.

The Newport Top is a stunningly elegant pattern. The lines assure the blouse hangs loosely skimming the body in a lovely drape. I have a 41″ bust and chose a (L) which yielded a perfect fit. The pattern is so well drafted, each join coming together with exact precision. The collar has the look of a boat neckline but the back and front overlap at the shoulder creating a very unique detail. This pattern did not disappoint but rather was a success as per usual for Itch to Stitch patterns.
    Thank you Kennis,

  8. Mary

I made this and the result was great. The neckline was a little tricky using the knit fabric. But the overall result was great. I made minor adjustments to the body width.

  9. Carolyn

Hi Kennis. My Newport top made up very well. Other than the fact I cut out two left sleeves! But I trimmed both the sleeves to be the same and moved the notches on one of them and it didn’t matter at all. It fits well, looks great and the instructions were easy to follow. And I have a brand new computer skill. Thank you for your assistance there as well.

  10. Helena

lovely twist on a boat neck top.

  11. Gini

Went down one size for a more fitted top and really happy with the result.

  13. Heidi Garp

  14. VIRGINIA

I like the neckline for this T-shirt.

  15. Bernice

The shoulder overlap on this top is a cute detail!

  16. MELODY

I see lots of possibilities with this one, both casual and dressy. Just looks comfortable without being dowdy. I love Kennis’ patterns for their style without being too trendy. Many seem just right for my sense of style.

First Itch to Stitch pattern, but I’ll definitely be back for more!

This was my first PDF pattern. The download was straightforward. I printed the pattern on 8×10 and taped. The pattern assembly and sewing instructions were clear and easy to follow. The design was great and has a nice flow. I measured to a size 8, but I found this fit to be bigger than I liked. The neckline is unique on this garment and a great feature. Can’t wait to make another one.
