  1. Nadia

I feel bad giving this skirt a 3 star review since I gave all of my other ITS patterns five stars but that waistband is uncomfortable and bulky. The rest of the skirt looks great and was easy to sew but the waistband was unwearable. I ended up ripping the elastic out and changing the top of the skirt to be similar to the Mountain View Jeans waistband. That waistband is wonderfully flat and comfortable AND easier to construct and fit. I will make the Quebec skirt again but with the Mountain View Jeans waistband instead.

  2. Jane

I love my Quebec skirt! Only my second time trying a PDF pattern and my first Itch to Stitch one. I much prefer PDF patterns over the traditional. The instructions and diagrams were easy to follow. My only notes:
    1. I found I needed 18 extra cms of fusible stay tape for the size 14 (94 instead of 76).
    2. I think it would have been helpful to add a note to step 44 along the lines of “Stop low enough so that you can make a nice diagonal line from edge stitch to top stitch to this latest top stitch when finishing (step 46).” Maybe only needed because I’m a newbie to sewing though.
Overall I couldn’t be happier. I wear this skirt ALL the time.

  3. Ami

I am so happy!!! The pattern has such a great fit for me. You did it again your drafting is impeccable. Love you for it.

  4. Wendy

Good fit. Chose size based on full hip measurement. I am really short so I shortened the pattern by 5 inches. I’m happy with the result but might consider going up 1 size depending on fabric choice next time around

  5. Vicki

This is so comfortable and beautiful!!

Quick and fun to make. I only needed to shorten it my a little bit.

    Great pattern!

  16. Anonymous

A great wardrobe staple that can dress up or down based on the fabric. Fashioned after the Mountain View Jeans it has all the bells and whistles with the ease of a pull on skirt. Great starter for those not yet up to sewing zippers.

  17. Anonymous

Easy to follow instructions + good fit = enjoyable sewing and nice garment to wear.

  21. Deborah

The style is flattering and easy to wear. I love that it is a pull on that looks like a regular denim skirt with a zipper. Just learning, so great confidence builder. Karina at Lifting Pins and Needles demonstrated a very doable and wearable project. She’s my go to before I make any purchases. ITS has a great reputation for quality and style.

Most natural fibers shrink in the wash; be sure to have enough fabric. The requirements below assume that the fabric is already pre-shrunk.

How to choose your size

  1. Compare your hip circumference (widest part) to the “Body Measurements” table. Choose the size that fits your hip best. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size if you like your garment more fitted; otherwise, choose the bigger size.

  2. Because this pattern is pull-on style pants, do not use a smaller size at the waist, or you might not be able to pull the pants up past your hip.

  3. If you are taller or shorter than 5’6” (168 cm), you should consider lengthening or shortening the garment. The instructions for lengthening or shortening are included in the pattern.
