  1. Oyinda

A winning pattern! TBH, I was skeptical about the claim that the style would work for broad and narrow shoulders. I’ve just come to accept that a broad shoulder adjustment is almost a guarantee with many styles because my high bust is *wider* than my bust. I am 5’10” and I made a B cup in size 10 bust (because I always pick a size to fit my shoulders first) and graded to 8 waist and hip. This is a very common grading strategy for me, so this is not a comment on the pattern itself. Other modifications: 1) added 1/2” to the bodice, 2) Lowered armhole 1/2”, also a common adjustment for me. 3) I lengthened the long sleeve by 3” (the most I’ve ever added to any sleeve pattern). I think I needed that much added to the sleeve because of the narrow shoulder design and much of the sleeve length was taken up by my shoulders. I also like my sleeves to be comfortably long (partly why I started sewing my own clothes!)

I made the short sleeve version in a lightweight gingham linen. It’s really lovely and came together quickly. My serger worked hard for this project as all the seams except the armhole were pressed open and overlocked separately. I thought about overlocking both seam allowances together to save time but decided to follow the instructions (which were fantastic BTW) and that was a good idea. I really like the pleats and they do look nice on broad shoulders! I now have plans to make the long sleeve version in viscose challis. Thank you for such a great pattern!

  2. Marion

A lovely pattern that was very easy to sew. I like the layers feature for printing.

  3. Phyllis

I had my usual doubts when I started making muslins for this pattern. This is my first itch to stitch pattern and it took me a while to decide on the correct size, because there is more ease in this pattern than I usually like, being on the buxom side. I settled on a size 10, cup size c, with size 12 length to apex, graded to size 16 in the hips. Phew, lots of muslins and adjustments, but I am sooooooo happy because I got it to look GOOD! Directions are clear, sewing the pattern is straightforward. I have made a wearable muslin, will make in other fabrics.

  4. Wendy

    Nice basic top to hack.

  5. Carol

Great shirt for work or play. However, I wish you would slow down on making such great patterns. I am getting so far behind because nieces love them too so I am sewing for 3. We use your patterns in 3 different sizes and they all fit amazingly well. The girls wear theirs to work and I wear mine at home or to go out (luckily I am retired). Your shirts are all classy and easy to make. Thanks.

  6. Anneke

I live it that you can choose between different cup sizes. The fit is overall good and it is easy to sew

  7. Cynthia

Awesome in every way. I’ve begun using PDF patterns t
In the last year. This was by far the easiest having the truest lines and guides. The pattern was accurately designed to the stated measurements leading to a great fit on the first try.

  8. Alison

This turned out great! My measurements said I should make a size 14, but when I looked at the finished garment measurements, I decided there was a little more ease than I wanted and made a size 12. It fits perfectly! I needed an elbow-length sleeve, so I patterned the long one minus 7” length and added 1/4” elastic to the opening instead of making the cuff in the pattern. I love the narrow V so the neck’s not gaping wide at the top. I’m not usually a fan of gathered sleeves, but the slight gathering on these looks great. 10/10 would recommend and plan to make again!

  9. Anonymous

I made the long sleeve version of this and found the directions and assembly very straightforward. I am a petite 5′ tall with fairly wide shoulders, so I cut out the size for my bust size and then had to grade one size up for the armholes to get a neat fit in both the lower and upper body.

  10. Lorraine

One of my favourites up to now, fabulous.

  11. Angela P

I made the short sleeve version with the DD cup bodice. I love how it came out, I think it’s the best fitting garment I’ve ever made myself. The only pattern adjustment I made was to blend from a 12 to 14 at the hip – no FBA, hooray! Very happy. Looking forward to making more Itch to Stitch patterns 🙂

  12. Ann

This is a very pretty top. The pattern is beautifully drafted and the instructions are easy to follow. I made the long sleeve version with the button cuffs and I am gearing up to make another one! An added plus was not having to do my usual narrow shoulder adjustment – the design features slightly narrowed shoulders with enough sleeve cap ease to accommodate varying shoulder widths.

  13. Lucy

the detailing on the sleeves are adorable, easy pattern to follow

  14. Elaine

Using my favorite woven fabrics with patterns from Itch To Stitch have allowed me to consistently turn out well-fitting garments that bring many compliments from friends and even strangers who stop me to ask where I shop for my clothes (LOL). When I tell them I sew them myself, they are amazed. The Seychelles blouse is easy to construct, using the well-written instructions and illustrations on the Instruction pages. I have made two of this lovely blouse and plan to make several more. When I need something new, I find myself turning first to Itch To Stitch because I can be confident about good fit and styling.

  15. Karen

Lovely pattern, easy to follow and use.

  16. Anonymous

It was too hard to sew. Also it’s too hard to find the video of how to sew it. You should divide your subscription boxes to boxes catered to very very beginners, and a second group of more experienced people.

  17. Susan

Great pattern, easy to sew and I raised the neckline for my preferences, and it worked out really well.

  18. Karen

It was an easy top to make

  19. Donna

I like the top its very cute and simple. My only issue with the top was dart. I needed to lower the dart it was to high for me. Other than that it’s a nice top.

  20. Ramona

Love the pattern. I made the short sleeve version and I’m going to do the long sleeve next.

  21. Jana

Love this top. Fits me perfectly.

  22. Kelly

Just started sewing this one, but I’m already loving the neckline and the sleeves.

  23. Gail

My first experience with a downloadable PDF pattern printed at home and it went just beautifully smoothly. I made the short sleeved version in cotton poplin and it fits well. I’m looking forward to making the long sleeve, maybe in a fabric with a bit more drape for fall.

  24. Georgann

Made my first test pattern and found it to be very easy to sew. I will make some changes to the facing as I do not like the top stitching to keep the facing down. I also would like a curved hem over the straight hem. Hope to get one made in rayon made this week with my changes.

  25. Renee

Another beautifully designed pattern by Kennis.

  26. Rose

This was a fun shirt to make. As always, the pattern instructions were clear and easy to follow. I’m fairly new to sewing and I’ve learned so much from Kennis’s patterns. They are terrific.

  27. Diane

It was a quick project. Everything went together beautifully. The sizing was excellent. Mine fits great with no alterations.

  28. Betty

    Love it

  29. Carol

This is such a classic. The pleats on the sleeves are a great feature. Loved making it and sizing was spot on.

  30. Jane

First garment I have that fits me.

  31. Anonymous

    Love this pattern!

  32. Diane

Very easy pattern to stitch up and my fit was spot on.

  33. Anonymous

    Enge

  34. Camilla

    Very clear instructions, versatile style

  35. M

This pattern was a dream to sew. I made it using some cotton lawn material, just the perfect weight for our late autumn weather. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. I particularly like that the pattern sizes are colour coded making them easy to follow when tracing. There will be more!

  36. Sheryl

    Lovely pattern

  37. Debbie

    Great, as always!!

  38. Susan

this pattern went together very well, all the notches matched up and I am very pleased with the finished blouse – I made the one with long sleeves.

  39. April

Quick sew and beautiful result. The pleated short sleeve is my favorite part. I sewed it in Japanese crinkle cotton and was very pleased with the final product. Her patterns always fit me well and the instructions are clear and easy to follow.

  40. Kathryn

I like the pattern but had more fitting issues with this one than with the others I’ve had from ITS. I lowered the bust dart, reduced the length of the armscye and the v neckline and increased the curve on the back centre seam.

  41. Sheelagh

Your patterns give an up to date twist to classic designs. In this case the sleeves.

  42. Melissa

This is a lovely style for me- feminine but still classic. I like that it can be a bit dressy or casual. I will send more after I sew it up!
Thank you for all you do!
    Melissa

  43. Deborah

Love this and all of your patterns so easy to sew and the instructions are fabulous.

  44. Anonymous

Lovely pattern. Well drafted with clear instuctions

  45. S.

Love her clean, classic lines-always with that little extra something to make her patterns special.

  46. Sondra

Love, Love Itch to stitch patterns so easy to put together and easy to follow. I have many of their patterns and I would recommend them to everyone. They are easy to adjust to your particular size. The designs are amazing and they make you want to make them. I will continue purchasing patterns from Itch to stitch.

  47. Judy Gary

Good pattern easy to cut and sew

  48. Virginie

I absolutely love this blouse. I live the neck and the sleeve options. I made one and plan to make others

  49. Mary

    Love this top!

  50. Lorraine

    Great pattern, very pleased.

  51. Laura

I just finished sewing the Seychelles Top and wasn’t sure if it was my style. But now that it is done, it is the perfect, discreet, basic woven top for warm weather. The bust cup options make all the difference. Without those, I could not wear a style like this without looking like I was 20 lbs heavier. This top is great for tucking in or half-tucks.

  52. Diane

I made the long sleeved version in a drapery polyester crepe. Very easy construction. Comfortable fit but has some shape. Will definitely make more.

  53. Donna Harder

I really liked sewing this top! I had a piece of rayon in my old stash and it turned out so nice!

  54. Taryn

Wearing my Seychelles Top today 😄 great design details, comfortable but chic. A great combination

  55. Nicole

    A very stylish basic blouse

  56. Glenda

Great top with options of short or long sleeves. Looks great on everyone. Well drafted pattern.

  57. Julie

Good clear instructions, like the different cup size options. Really pleased with how my two Seychelles Tops turned out

  58. Vanessa

I adore this top! Both the long and short versions are beautiful, and I have enjoyed sewing them as a wardrobe staple.

  59. DEBBIE ANN

Awesome top. So easy to sew and it is perfect for work or just regular daily activities!

  60. linda

This is a great pattern. The fit and instructions are very good. I will make it many more times.

  61. Diane

I love the detailed instructions of Itch-to-Stitch patterns. Even though this was an easy top to sew, there are lots of little tips and touches that make it look professional.

  62. Hansie

I LOVE this blouse ! As usual everything is perfect 🙂

  63. rloharris

I loved this pattern so much I made 6! If you have beautiful cotton lawns, how can you not! Perfect result each time. I made short sleeve, short sleeve with 2 inches added to the sleeve for a mid length, and my favourite, that dainty narrow cuff long sleeve!

  64. Sandra

Fantastic pattern! Super easy to make and it’s beautiful in many different fabrics. I’ve made 2 so far.

  65. Carol

Lovely pattern, made the long sleeve version in viscose.

  66. Anonymous

What a beautifully designed top. This is a perfect wardrobe builder. Many options allow for several different looks from one pattern. I like how it is a clean and simple silhouette but is not boxy and frumpy in the fit. It is not a complicated sew and would be a good pattern for someone wanting to get started with woven styles.

  67. Merrily

Nice fit. I like the narrow shoulders and the way the bottom of the armscye comes up under the arm, not tight or restricting, but modest. I plan to make this again in a sleeveless version.

  68. Linda

A great and easy pattern with a great looking top as a result!!

  69. Gail

Such a great pattern. Just making my first short sleeve option, the instructions are easy to follow and it’s a great fit.

  70. Patsy Hanson

I think this pattern will become my favorite woven blouse make. Simple lines, easy sew, so comfortable and can be dressed up or casual.

  71. Anonymous

Another great pattern from Itch to Stitch!

  72. Hazel

I absolutely love this top I have made a wearable toile from my stash, and now I’m satisfied that I can confidently make another I definitely will. I love all itch to stitch patterns, and with Karina’s help from her videos I’m confident enough to make more.

  73. Diann

very little fitting adjustments needed for me

  74. Paula

The concept of this item is very good. Happy that it is one for non-stretch fabric. The way the sleeves were designed was not so easy as the rest, but with a bit of experience in sewing it was fixed. Overall very happy with my purchase.

  75. Terri

    Very good instructions

  76. Sheila

So easy to understand love the sleeves

  77. Sheila

Excellent pattern as drafted with personal adjustments made and also used as a block for personal design changes.

  78. Anonymous

The pattern is nice but my make turned into a wearable toile. It’s so big through the body. I’m just a B cup. When I make it again, I will grade down through the body from the 12 I made. The shoulders are good. The short sleeve is pretty. I used a crinkle cotton. I love the technique with the facing/interfacing!

  79. Marcia

Sleeve pleats make this simple pattern nicely special. I’ll be making several more.

  80. Chandra

love the various options for the bust and also being able to print out the sizes i want. love the style and options to sew up more than once

  81. Davina

I like this top a lot. As I have narrow shoulders the fit was very good on me, without having to make any adjustments. I lengthened the top to make a knee length dress which is lovely. The pattern is very versatile. I found the fit quite generous. I made a 16 b cup but will make a 14 next time. I made the short sleeve version and the pleated sleeve top, which I was very unsure of, has turned out well and I like it. I also put a little more shape into the centre back seam, just for personal fit preference.

  82. Jeni

Kennis nailed it. Another versatile wardrobe staple.

  83. Dorothy

I enjoy making and wearing the garments made using
    your patterns.

    Dorothy

  84. Diane

Love the ease with which this pattern went together!! Nice one!! :+)

  85. Lorelei

Having difficulty doing the box sleeves. I am a returning sewer so I’m sure it is easy. Otherwise love the pattern. The bust fits perfectly.

  86. Gail

I love the narrower shoulders and the cute sleeve.

  87. Sabine

Quite a great pattern. Everything fits together perfectly, the instructions are clear and understandable. Have sewn two blouses and more will follow!

  88. Susan Wentworth

Love this pattern. Both versions are so wearable.

  89. Linda

Patterns are simple but classic. Love them.

  90. Elizabeth

I like the little pleats on the top of the sleeve as well as the
length of these sleeves, though for my own sleeves I will lengthen just a bit as I am older and need the coverage.

  91. Marilou

Good pattern, poor fabric choice on my end. Will make again.

How to choose your size

  1. Determine your cup size—subtract the circumference of your over bust from the circumference of the fullest part of your bust. If the rounded difference is 1″ (2.5 cm), use A cup; 2″ (5 cm), use B cup; 3″ (7.5 cm), use C cup; 4″ (10 cm), use D cup; 5″ (12.5 cm), use DD cup.
  2. After determining the cup size, compare your bust circumference (fullest part) to the “Body Measurements” table. Using the corresponding row for your cup, choose the size that best fits your bust.
