Primary Fabric Use light to medium-weight woven fabric. Shirting, broadcloth, linen, flannel and crepe are great choices.
Interfacing Use light- to medium- weight fusible woven or weft insertion interfacing.
Most natural fibers shrink in the wash; be sure to have enough fabric. The requirements below assume that the fabric is already pre-shrunk. Do not use 20" (50 cm)-wide interfacing as it is not wide enough for a pattern piece.

How to choose your size
Dana –
I made this using the largest cup size pattern pieces and the amount/placement of the gathers at the front shoulder makes the shirt look frumpy and unflattering. The rest of the shirt fits well and the instructions were thorough so I might consider making it again but I would need to rotate the gathers into a side dart. I wish this shirt had that option from the start!
Nicole –
I made the Mila in flannel and it is perfect for the PNW weather.
Colleen –
This pattern turned out so nicely and fits wonderfully. A few more complicated techniques such as the front placket and continuous lap sleeve vent but all worth the time. Love the yoke and back pleat I like for my broader “swimmer’s back”. Will be making this one again for sure.
I will probably leave off the sleeve roll up tabs if using another thick / warm fabric like flannel. The tabs are quite long and kind of bug me trying to make sure they aren’t twisted or wadded up inside. The odds of rolling up my sleeves are pretty low with a fabric like flannel. Would include for a lighter weight fabric, however.
Lucy –
perfect style great instruction info
Leslie –
The directions are easy to follow. I’m in the process of making a 2nd one.
Marilyn –
As I have found a few times, I have wanted a particular style of garment and you have produced the patterns
Susan –
Had a blip on my end with printing but got it printed and I love the pattern. Everyone was so kind and patient with me.
Cynthia –
First time that I made a shirt, was difficult for me with the centers fold over etc, but will try it again. Overall happy with the shirt.
Isha –
Very practical and timeless garment

Beautiful
Tracey –
The fit is perfect. One of the most well designed pdf patterns I’ve ever used. The instructions were clear and diagrams very professional. I’ll definitely look to Itch to Stitch for my future pattern needs.
Teresa –
Love it!
Terresa –
Great shirt pattern. As with all the Itch to Stitch patterns the instruction are plain, and the pattern well drafted and fits together good.
Heather –
This is a fantastic pattern! I was nervous about trying a ‘proper’ shirt (collar stand, yoke, placket etc), but needn’t have been; the instructions are superb and walk you through step by step. The continuous lap on the sleeve got the better of me and I ended up doing a simple faced slit instead, but that’s entirely down to me and not the pattern or instructions; just gives me something to work towards next time! The fit was spot on with no alterations other than size blending and my usual forward shoulder adjustment. I love my finished Mila and would recommend it unreservedly (as with all ITS patterns I’ve tried). Great customer service too- when I had a query about the pattern Kennis replied to me quickly and helpfully. Thank you Kennis for another great pattern!
Teckla –
This is one of those basics that every wardrobe needs. Should be an easy sew once I’ve altered the pattern, but will make a muslin to check the fit.
Loretta –
Very nice pattern, Download easy. A+A+A+A+

I love this shirt – I’ve made it twice already – the second version without sleeves (because I was short on fabric). It’s as cute without sleeves as with! Fantastic pattern, beautifully drafted.

Love the style. Can be used summer & winter. Nice to be able to print the size you need at the time your making the shirt.
