Irena Knit Top is a cozy, casual top that you will want to wear all the time. It can be a fitted T-shirt if you use a jersey or interlock fabric, but it can be a sweater if you use a light-weight sweater knit. The wide, flat-bottom V front band reaches the base of your neck to keep you warm on cold days. Try using a contrast color on the neck band, sleeve bands and bottom band to give your individual style.

Irena Knit Top is designed to be worn with a cami, a shirt or other top inside. There is no modesty panel included; what you see in the photos are separate camis.

  • Long-sleeve, comfortable knit top as your Fall and Winter staple
  • Flat-bottom V front band adds visual interest

  1. quiltjunkie100 –

Made this top out of merino wool knit in size 12 (my normal size) and it turned out beautiful, and fit very well. The neckband hugs the nape of the neck to give a perfect fit. I am making another out of the same fabric in different color. There are a couple of things I will do differently. When putting on the neckband my fabric stretched out where the bottom of the band is stitched to the body of the top, so there is a small pucker on each side. On the next one I am adding a little knit stay tape to this area to prevent stretching. Also shortening the body by 2” and sleeves by 1.5”. I am 5’7” and have pretty long torso and arms and top is just a bit too long for my liking.

This is a beautiful pattern and everything I was looking for.

  4. Erica Wynter –

Love this pattern, came out beautifully and was a breeze to sew. 1st time ever not having to adjust a pattern.

  5. gloria –

Lovely pattern, fits well, instructions easy to follow. Will use pattern to make more.

  6. Vicky –

I didn’t think I would like downloading the pattern and all the taping but I really didn’t mind. Being able to choose my specific size was a great help. I have already made the top and it went together really well. I will definitely shop again.

  7. Anonymous –

Great transitional layer. I have tried this style with several other pattern makers/companies. None explain and walk you through the neckline as well as this one. Kennis’ directions are meticulous. If you read carefully and take your time you will end up with a flat, pucker free neckline!

  8. Carol –

    Love, love the collar!
