  1. Gaynor

    Great pattern

  2. Stefania

Very nice and easy pattern. Very easy to put together and sew. Very nice and flattering for my shape. Love it! And on top of that, is free 🙏🏻. Thank you so much!

  3. Margie

I haven’t done dressmaking for many years so it was a bit of a challenge. I didn’t realise in the beginning (because I didn’t download the instructions 🤨) that I should use my own body measurements and not the numbers ie 4 6 etc. Anyway I have almost completed the topper and have enjoyed making it. I was delighted that it was a free pattern and thank you for your generosity!!

  4. Susan

    I love the pattern.

  5. Janis

Fabulous pattern and fitted perfectly. I shall definitely order more patterns from this site

  6. Karen

This is such a versatile pattern! I have really enjoyed making it in pure linen but I have seen it made in quilted cotton batik and it looked great too. That means it can be used in hot weather and as it turns chillier. I love all the sizes that are available, and the bust cup options. Thanks Kennis for a great treat of a pattern! Videos to check out are by Lifting Pins and Needles and Sew Batik

  7. Kathryn

Great pattern, easy to sew and, of course the bonus is that it comes free! I made a few modifications for my shape and to suit my personal preference and am very happy with the finished garment. I will probably make it again in the future.

  8. Sandra

Lovely pattern. True to size. The shape was really elegant.

  9. Moira

    Great pattern so simple sew

  10. Anonymous

To put it simply, easy and fast to make and a great addition to my wardrobe.

  11. Nanci

I loved the pattern. It’s easy to read and goes together quickly.

  12. Judith

Love it and sew sew easy to sew up.

  13. Bobee

This is a perfect pattern for making up some yardage I “created” from quilting scraps. I went up a size since I was using prequilted scraps with batting and it is so comfortable and cute. I will use it a lot as a warming vest in the colder temps when you don’t need long sleeves but you want a little extra warmth and cuteness.

  14. Nancy

This is a really nice , simple topper. I like the top stiched facings and the simple closure! Pattern is well designed, I will make it again!

  15. Anonymous

This is an easy sew. I put the facing on the outside in a solid complimentary color. Thanks for the pattern!

  16. Sandra

    Quick and easy pattern

  17. Lisa

This pattern is perfection. Clear instructions, easy to fit, and a beautiful garment.

  18. Sylvia

    Lovely pattern

  19. Gayle

An easy, but very stylish pattern.

  20. Terri

Great little topper. Easy to make and easy to wear!

  21. Anonymous

    Great pattern, simple but stylish

  22. Tana

I made the shorter version twice. On one I used self-ties down the front. On the other I straightened the hemline and added self-ruffles to slightly lengthened sleeves with a button front. This is my first Itch to Stitch pattern.

  23. Debbie

Absolutely love this topper!! And I want to say “Thank You” for offering it to everyone for free… I could not believe it was offered free of charge. I HIGHLY recommend to All A++++.

  24. Valerie

I really like the pattern and just sewed it up today. It went together well. I thought it would be a little too short for me so I added some length and then added a cuffs to the sleeves for a little more coverage.

  25. Mary

very nice and easy pattern to make

  26. Anonymous

Thank you for such a great pattern! I easily made this top from a linen remnant and couldn’t be happier with it.

  27. Tina

Very nice pattern as usual, as I’m a fan of itch to stitch. I have made 4 already, 3 for myself and 1 for my daughter. Appreciate the difference cup sizes as well. I turned up the hem as stated and I added self fabric bias tape on the inside hem which gives the jacket a beautiful finish on the inside. A real winner. Thanks for a wonderful pattern.

  28. helen

    wonderful and easy pattern

  29. Susan

I have just completed the Deba Topper and am very pleased with the result. I made the cropped length and this looks a good fit on my 5’ frame and can be worn with a few tops in my wardrobe. Very happy.

  30. Anonymous

    Very easy and wearable

  31. Anonymous

It was a fun pattern that I hacked into a blouse. I found the cropped length suited my petite height. Thank you

  32. Lisa

I was impressed that it offered cup sizes but unfortunately they didn’t go anywhere big enough

Hi Lisa, it goes up to size 40. Did you see, or you need it bigger? There are many sizes so a second table is needed to display them all.

  33. Rosa

The Deba Topper was easy to sew with clear instructions, as usual with itch to stitch patterns.
I have another one on my sewing list to make.
    Thank you Kennis

  34. Ami

Dry easy sew and chic. I made two so far and both turned out well. Thank you for this free pattern,

  35. Kristine k.

How to choose your size

  1. Determine your cup size—subtract the circumference of your over bust from the circumference of the fullest part of your bust. If the rounded difference is 1″ (2.5 cm), use A cup; 2″ (5 cm), use B cup; 3″ (7.5 cm), use C cup; 4″ (10 cm), use D cup; 5″ (12.5 cm), use DD cup.
  2. After determining the cup size, compare your bust circumference (fullest part) to the “Body Measurements” table. Using the corresponding row for your cup, choose the size that best fits your bust. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size if you like your garment more fitted; otherwise, choose the bigger size.
  3. Compare your waist circumference (narrowest part) to the “Body Measurements” table. Choose the size that best fits your waist. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size if you like your garment more fitted; otherwise, choose the bigger size.
  4. Compare your hip circumference (widest part) to the “Body Measurements” table. Choose the size that fits your hip best. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size if you like your garment more fitted; otherwise, choose the bigger size.
  5. It’s OK to use different sizes for the bust, waist and hip. The instructions for blending sizes are included in the pattern.
  6. If you are taller or shorter than 5’6” (168 cm), you should consider lengthening or shortening the garment. The instructions for lengthening or shortening are included in the pattern.
