  1. kathy.eastwood

I was skeptical at first in that I didn’t believe this style could look good on me, but it really does. I did make a test dress, but in the end the only adjustments I did was a forward shoulder adjustment and taking out a half inch of length in the bodice. Having the cup sizes made all the difference! And the instructions are phenomenal. I’m doing a second dress soon!

  2. cjlyall

I love this pattern! The yoke doesn’t gape, it’s comfortable and fits like a dream!

  3. Donna

Love the fit and the style. Sewing your patterns is so stress free! Once I figured out which adjustments I needed to fit me ( not many which never happens!) I’ve been able to apply those same adjustments to any of your patterns I’ve sewn. I’ve been sewing for 30+ years and have never had such consistent results. Thanks so much!!

  4. Anonymous

The style is both comfortable and flattering. I definitely recommend adding elastic to the waistband to help hold the weight of the skirt. The instructions are clear, but it might be a challenging make for beginners who need more illustrations or for steps to be very detailed.

  5. Hema

Love this pattern!!! It is an easy sew and looks very flatterning.

  6. Anonymous

Beautiful dress. My current fav pattern, I can’t stop making it.
The compliments, oh my goodness, are just overwhelming. Such a flattering dress.
Made 3 so far, my favorite so far are my 2 solids out of Liverpool knits. I elongate the sleeves since at the moment I prefer it that way. Karina’s video (lifting Pins and needles) taught me that too. Can’t wait to make more with different prints and fabrics.

  7. Leslie

Loved this pattern. True to size and fit perfect. The pattern instructions were detailed and easy to follow. I highly recommend this pattern

  8. Doreen

Sehr gute Anleitung. Ich mag die Schnittmuster von Itch to Stitch sehr

  9. Anonymous

    Lovely pattern clear instructions

  10. debbie

I like how fashionable , classic and current your patterns are. Also they fit real woman.

  11. paula

    A lovely pattern

  12. Mari

Super elegant and comfortable! Sleeve, neckline and skirt length are all perfect!

  13. Jana

    Beautiful dress. Just love it!

  14. Anonymous

Fit perfectly without any alterations and took me only a few hours to sew. I am very happy with this beautiful dress!

  15. Su

As this was my first itch to stitch make I didn’t realise how important all the pattern markings were until it came to construction. It would make sense to make your markings on the right side of the fabric so when constructing the waist band you can see the marks. It came to together easily apart from trying to meet all the markings. My bust area looks a bit tight, I might make a bigger bust next time. I would make it again.

  16. Emma

I’ve just finished my first Antrim dress and I don’t think I’ve ever made or worn anything so comfy! It was more or less straightforward to sew although the notches are absolutely key in getting the wrap front and waistband right. The fit is lovely and it’s such a twirly dress – I really love it and have plans for another with longer sleeves this time.

  17. Kathleen

Lovely, flattering shape… and pockets! The different bodices for bust sizes was a great touch. My first Itch to Stitch make. A detailed, well planned out pattern that was easy to follow.

I would have loved to see more sleeve and hem length options. Also, the font on the pattern pieces was super-small (text and pattern markings) such that it was extra-hard to see with my projector, and I had to keep referring back to my computer monitor to be reminded of the instructions and confirm I was cutting the proper piece. I can only imagine this would be doubly-challenging if you had visual impairment of any kind.

  18. Kay Labitzke

    Great instructions and perfect fit.

  19. Venice

This dress makes up beautifully. The instructions are clear and to the point, and I love the layers option. It’s a great pattern.

  20. Susan

The block you use fits me well, Instructions are clear, and the drafting of the pattern is great

  21. Joan

I’m waiting for fabric to arrive to make this one!

  22. Johanne

i would say I am a sewist with intermediate skills levels, so from my point of view, I have only positive comments in regards to sizing. printing, sewing and following instructions. The only problem I encountered is when I printed the pattern with 2 sizes, I was confused sometimes in figuring out the notches belonging to which size, especially those on front pieces.
I made the dress and love it. Probably wearing on Dec 24.

  23. iveta

Love a well fitting pattern and it has pockets.

  24. Rosemary

Beautifully crafted styles, perfect for the average height woman.

  25. Anika

LOVE this pattern! Whipped it up as a birthday-present-to-me and was giggly happy for days!!! Now I’m just resisting wearing it after every laundry load. My kids love seeing me twirl in it, and my husband was so impressed and said it would make a great date night dress for when we can go out on dates again (ugh, covid). The bodice fits like a dream with no embarrassing gaping, and grading between sizes was so easy. I have a lovely dress that fits me to a T! Thank you, Kennis, for yet another lovely pattern!

  26. ihateshopping_61

I adore this pattern. The fit is fantastic and it is so slimming and elegant. I have made two versions of the antrim dress so far and have a third planned for myself as well. The only thing holding me back from making my third dress is that my 18 year old daughter has also fallen in love with the pattern and has asked me to make her one as well. Absolutely wonderful pattern.

  27. Anonymous

    Lovely dress!

  28. Kerry

A very flattering dress. I love your patterns, thank you.

  29. Judy

Easy to follow instructions. I will cut the waistband one size smaller next time. Overall I am pleased with it. Thanks!

  30. Rosemary

This is a easy to wear wrap dress. Flattering on everyone. Pockets are great and functional despite whether your going dressy or casual. Instructions are easy to follow and comprehensive. Kennis gives excellent support if needed. There is nothing else needed but time to make another. We were pattern testers for my daughter’s dress- I need one for me.

  31. Sandra

Additional comment – I found that both the Antrum and the Celeste dresses were too short and I am only 5’ 3” tall. I made an adjustment to both patterns. The finished length of the Antrum dress shows 23 1/2 inches – is this a printing error? I thought the dress was designed to be midi length. I only added 1 inch for my height and a finished length of 241/2 inches would be far too short, but it worked out to be midi length on me. Hope this is helpful. Your patterns are of a high quality.

  32. tracy

This is β€œmy” dress! I have purchased in RTE so many times. It was wonderful to finally be able to make one for my tiny shoulders, large chest, and tiny waist, that fits without falling off at the neck Well done!

  33. Robyn

This pattern is really great. Everything has gone together really well and the instructions were very easy to follow. So thrilled that the neckline surplus fits and sits beautifully with no gaping issues. I can highly recommend this one.

  34. Ms M.Dussart

I’ve enjoyed making this dress so much that I have made 2. I had some issues with the waist panels when making the first dress. In part because I misunderstood what I was to do but I think the panels should have been identified a little better. i.e. Midriff panel outer and midriff panel lining inner.
I’m 69 and have made many cross over dresses this this during my sewing lifetime and have never been able to get away with it dropping down. However, with this pattern, the way it is constructed reduces all those issues. I would highly recommend it.
I shall be reviewing it on one of my coming vlogs.

  35. Joyce

I love my new dress… the fit is spot on. I used the size 12 with the d-cup bodice . So wonderful not to do a fba. My only teeny tiny issue is the waistband. In the interior I put the right side out to see the pretty side of the fabric when I put the dress on . My other change because of my fabric choice was to underline the back only with stretch lining. Thank you for a wonderful pattern than will be used over and over again

  36. Angela

This is a fantastic pattern. Lots of illustrations to explain the tricky bits and the end result is a very comfortable dress that fits so well. I know it will become a favourite

  37. Holly .

I adore this dress as it looks good on everyone! I have an existing wrap dress with runching on the sleeves that I’m going to try on this dress.

  38. Denise

Perfect everyday dress. Dressed up or down. Beautiful fit. Easy instructions. Joy to sew.

  39. ann

    loved it totally

  40. Kadri

Oh, this is a perfect faux wrap dress! I love mine, I get compliments every time I wear it and it fits well. I can’t wait to make more for the next summer (and probably some even for winter if I can find fabric that meets my expectations) πŸ™‚

  41. Anonymous

Beautiful dress with cup size option to make sure there is no gap. Plus pockets! What more could you ask for?

  42. Jos

Easy to sew, amazing fit and flattering on every body type!

  43. DEBBIE ANN

This dress is now a wardrobe staple, easy to sew , great instructions and fit !

  44. Ileana

Love this dress, instructions are great

  45. Linda

    Love the pattern!!

  46. Karin

I just finished this dress and love it. Verry flattering. Instructions are clear. It’s not a beginner’s pattern, not overly complicated but some parts were tricky. With my next dress I will make the waistband smaller to have some negative ease. The use of stretch knit also helps with beautiful fitting. This is one of the prettiest dresses I’ve made for myself. Even my teenage daughter wants me two sew her one

  47. Wynne

Luckily I decided to do a muslin of the bodice, as I accidentally sewed the back shoulder seams to the front side seams. Definitely operator error. Applying the bias binding was tricky, as the bulk of completely turning it to the inside and top stitching near the fold did not go smoothly. (But since this was the muslin, I wasn’t too picky.) The bodice fits lovely, I’ll just have to do my fluffy arm adjustment which is normal.
I would like a not so full skirt (just a lot of fabric expense) but I can easily adjust that.

  48. Anonymous

Really liked the styling and ease to wear. Always like the ease of fitting the garment. Multiple sizes and measurements for key points are fantastic.

  49. Kirsty

I love this dress, It is my favourite made by me item I own. Simple instructions and a great look

  50. Marijke

    nice dress, good pattern

  51. Natasha Tung

Love this dress! I had to make a few mods to make it work for my small bust but now that I have one Antrim, I have plans for more of them! The best thing too about this dress: you can bend over without anyone being able to see down your shirt! I’ve done a full writeup of this pattern on my blog.

  52. gmvizecky

This dress is amazing. I feel so pretty in this dress! It looks amazing on everyone! It’s drafted beautifully with cup sizes so it hugs you without any gaping! Instructions also easy to follow and very well written. If your fabric is really drapey use clear elastic on your seams. I will make again!

  53. v.bissinger

This dress is just perfect, i’m in love. The fit is magic and it has pocket !!!

Material

Primary fabric Use lightweight to medium weight knit fabric with 50% to 60% stretch and very good recovery. Rayon spandex (with 6% or more spandex content) and double-brushed poly are good choices.

Lining Use lightweight knit fabric with 50% to 60% stretch and very good recovery.
Swimsuit lining is a great choice. It is acceptable to use the same fabric as the primary fabric.

Other Materials

  • 40” (102 cm) of 3/8” or 1/2” (1 cm or 1.25 cm)-wide straight fusible stay tape (or you may cut your own using lightweight woven fusible interfacing on the straight grain)
  • Optional: 1/4″ or 3/8″ (6 mm or 1 cm) clear elastic as long as your waist

How to choose your size

  1. Determine your cup sizeβ€”subtract the circumference of your over bust from the circumference of the fullest part of your bust. If the rounded difference is 1β€³ (2.5 cm), use A cup; 2β€³ (5 cm), use B cup; 3β€³ (7.5 cm), use C cup; 4β€³ (10 cm), use D cup; 5β€³ (12.5 cm), use DD cup.
  2. After determining the cup size, compare your bust circumference (fullest part) to the β€œBody Measurements” table. Using the corresponding row for your cup, choose the size that best fits your bust. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size if you like your garment more fitted; otherwise, choose the bigger size.
  3. Compare your waist circumference (narrowest part) to the β€œBody Measurements” table. Choose the size that best fits your waist. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size if you like your garment more fitted; otherwise, choose the bigger size.
  4. Compare your hip circumference (widest part) to the β€œBody Measurements” table. Choose the size that fits your hip best. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size if you like your garment more fitted; otherwise, choose the bigger size.
  5. It’s OK to use different sizes for the bust, waist and hip. The instructions for blending sizes are included in the pattern.
  6. If you are taller or shorter than 5’6” (168 cm), you should consider lengthening or shortening the garment. The instructions for lengthening or shortening are included in the pattern.
