  1. Kadri

A great pattern for softshell fabric! I like how it is longer on the back so it gives you enough cover from wind and rain.

  2. Susan M. Vik

Very, very happy with this pattern. I had not worked with softshell fabric before, but the instructions are excellent. It did not take all that long to put together, and the fit and styling are attractive . I would definitely make this pattern again.

  3. hobbssa

Loved the pictures, bought the pattern but struggled with the zippered pockets on the soft shell fabric. Followed a tutorial vlog by Karina from lifting pins and needles that saved me from just giving up. Pattern design and instructions are all good but I needed a close up visual so big, big thanks to Karina. The jacket itself began to look better as the construction continued and if I made it again I would do a far better job but with bigger projects like this you tend not to make several but I’ll take the skills forward hopefully. If you aren’t a big itch to stitch follower and pattern sewist just don’t worry as it’s well worth a try but don’t size down with this one as it is quite fitted. Great design, just wish I was a better sewist. I have a wearable jacket and a few new skills.

  4. Heidi

    Simply just lovely

  6. Pam

  9. Wendy

  10. Jeanette

I absolutely love this pattern. Although I’m a fairly experienced sewer, it was my first time making a jacket and first time sewing with soft shell. The instructions were so detailed and easy to follow, and I’m very happy with my new jacket! I especially love having different cup size options which makes it so much easier to get the perfect fit. One minor suggestion is to put in a hanging loop when sewing the neck seam- I prefer hanging coats by a loop than by the hood so I’ll add that in next time. I will definitely be making another one (or three!)

  11. Peggy

I have started on this pattern and so far loving it!

  12. Anonymous

    Love this pattern.

  13. Michele

Beautiful jacket and very well written instructions, as usual.

How to choose your size

  1. Determine your cup size—subtract the circumference of your over bust from the circumference of the fullest part of your bust. If the rounded difference is 1″ (2.5 cm), use A cup; 2″ (5 cm), use B cup; 3″ (7.5 cm), use C cup; 4″ (10 cm), use D cup; 5″ (12.5 cm), use DD cup.
  2. After determining the cup size, compare your bust circumference (fullest part) to the “Body Measurements” table. Using the corresponding row for your cup, choose the size that best fits your bust. If you are between sizes, choose the bigger size.
  3. Compare your hip circumference (widest part) to the “Body Measurements” table. Choose the size that fits your hip best. If you are in between sizes, choose the bigger size.
  4. It’s OK to use different sizes for the bust and hip. The instructions for blending sizes are included in the pattern.
  5. If you are taller or shorter than 5’6” (168 cm), you should consider lengthening or shortening the garment. The instructions for lengthening or shortening are included in the pattern.
  6. If you opt for fabric with no stretch or a thick backing, like faux fur, Minky, or sherpa, you should consider selecting a larger size accordingly.
