  1. Katie

    Lovely summer top! Fits great.

  2. cjlyall

I normally steer clear of loose tops, but this one turned out lovely

  3. Vicki

The pattern was excellent and the instructions were basic. I had watched a video from Karina, so I understood, more clearly, what I needed to do. If I make it again, it will be of a heavier weight knit. The one I used was quite flimsy and difficult to keep in place while sewing.

  4. Mary

Kennis is my favorite Indie designer… her attention to detail and awesome pattern drafting skills makes her fit consistent and designs very unique. I love this top pattern for its simplicity and fit.

  5. Juanita

A very comfy and roomy top. I am working on a second top but trying a size smaller.

  6. Michele

I love Itch to Stitch patterns – everything just *works*, no bits where you can’t figure out what the instructions mean and have to make it up. I made the Algarve in a woven – one size up – as well as in a viscose jersey, and both look great

  7. Karon

This is a very quick easy make and super comfortable. Next make, I will reduce the fullness in the front because i am very small chested but I think people larger will need it as is.

  8. Gill

Absolutely love this pattern – easy to sew and looks elegant

  9. Yvonne

A lovely classic top which I am sure will become a staple piece in my summer wardrobe. Am planning several of these if I can find the right fabrics.

  10. Anonymous

Everything fits so well- I love it!

  11. Anonymous

Lovely pattern, easy to sew, realistic sizing.

  12. Brigetta

Absolutely Love this top. It has only a few pieces to tape together and was quick and easy to sew. It will be so good for Summer in a few months’ time (southern hemisphere)

  13. Barbara

For the most part, I like the pattern. It was easy to sew and looks exactly like the picture. I did find the sleeves a little too long for my preference and trimmed off about 3/4″ to make them more of a cap sleeve. Perhaps my only complaint was the measurements I took indicated I should use the full bust option, but it turned out WAY too big so I took the blouse apart and recut the front to the regular bust – much better.

  14. Kandace

Love the style. Have only just gotten the pattern ready for cutting out. I would love it if you’d do more longer top patterns. High hip doesn’t work for my daughter and I and in her case I usually have to lengthen anywhere from 4 to 9 inches. I know it sounds crazy, but she’s that long in the torso even though she’s 5’5″. I’m only 5’1″ but I also tend to have to lengthen your patterns by and inch or two. Other than that they fit us great! I need to start making more of them. I have almost the entire catalog.

  15. Victoria

The directions were well written and very easy to follow when sewing. This is definitely on my list to make again and again.

  16. Kimberly

Every pattern I buy from you guys turns out great! Easy to use and I will continue to buy.

  17. M.Gail

Love the loose fit for hot weather!

  18. Teresa

I love it that your patterns look good on buxom full figured women like me

Material

Primary Fabric Use a lightweight knit fabric such as rayon/viscose/bamboo jersey, lightweight French terry, double-brushed poly, or ITY, ensuring it has elastane or spandex for good recovery, and offers 50% horizontal and vertical stretch, with excellent drape.

Interfacing Use very lightweight knit or tricot fusible interfacing.

Other Materials

  • 30” (76 cm) of 1/2” (1.25 cm)-wide straight fusible stay tape (or you may cut your own using light-weight woven fusible interfacing on the straight grain)

Fabric Requirements

Most natural fibers shrink in the wash; be sure to have enough fabric. The requirements below assume that the fabric is already pre-shrunk.

How to choose your size

  1. Determine if you should use the regular bust front pieces or the full-bust front pieces—subtract the circumference of your over bust from the circumference of the fullest part of your bust. If the rounded difference is 3″ (7.5 cm) or less, use regular bust; if it is more than 3" (7.5 cm), use full bust.

  2. Compare your bust circumference (fullest part) to the “Body Measurements” table. Using the corresponding row for your bust (regular bust or full bust), choose the size that best fits your bust. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size if you like your garment more fitted; otherwise, choose the bigger size.

  3. Compare your waist circumference (narrowest part) to the “Body Measurements” table. Choose the size that best fits your waist. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size if you like your garment more fitted; otherwise, choose the bigger size.

  4. Compare your hip circumference (widest part) to the “Body Measurements” table. Choose the size that fits your hip best. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size if you like your garment more fitted; otherwise, choose the bigger size.

  5. It’s OK to use different sizes for the bust, waist and hip. The instructions for blending sizes are included in the pattern.

  6. If you are taller or shorter than 5’6” (168 cm), you should consider lengthening or shortening the garment. The instructions for lengthening or shortening are included in the pattern.
