Introducing the Laon Shirt PDF Sewing Pattern
You know those patterns that don’t scream for attention but somehow end up on constant repeat? That’s exactly what I had in mind when designing the Laon Shirt. It’s classic, timeless, and meant to quietly earn its place as a true wardrobe staple—one you’ll keep reaching for because it simply works.

Laon Shirt Features:
- Cup sizes for a beautifully contoured fit
- Classic shirt design with collar, collar stand, and front button placket
- Princess seams from the armholes for shaping and a flattering silhouette
- Back yoke for durability
- Long sleeves with plackets and buttoned cuffs
- Curved hem for a polished finish
- Designed for light- to medium-weight woven fabrics

The defining feature of the Laon is its front princess seams that extend from the armholes. This detail allows the shirt to gently contour the body, creating a flattering shape without sacrificing comfort or ease of movement. The look is clean and tailored, but never stiff—polished enough to feel put together, yet relaxed enough for everyday wear.

The Laon is drafted with cup sizes, which helps take some of the guesswork out of fitting and makes it easier to achieve a result you’ll actually love wearing. It’s also a very versatile pattern. Depending on your fabric choice, the Laon can feel crisp and classic, soft and casual, or even a bit elevated. That flexibility makes it a great candidate for sewing more than once—because let’s be honest, once you find a shirt pattern you like, you tend to stick with it.
One of my favorite parts of releasing a new pattern is seeing how testers make it their own. With the Laon, that variety really shines. Different fabrics, styling choices, and fits all highlight the same thing: this is a shirt that adapts beautifully to the wearer while keeping its classic foundation intact. Love this pattern. Could you do an add-on for a 3/4 length sleeve? I used to have a blouse exactly like this except it had a slightly wider 3/4 length sleeve with a cuff (no button closure on cuff). It was really comfortable to wear and was one of my favorite tops.
Hi Beth, for a shorter sleeve with no cuff, you can just cut off at any length you like.
YEAH ! I’ve been waiting for a shirt like this to come out. Hits all the check boxes : will fit my chest ( the first make, no disappointments) ☑️ Fitted, won’t look like a sack ☑️ rounded hem, flattering ☑️ lovely detail in the cuff ☑️ PDF in multiple sizes ( I like to make a matching shirt for my dear sister, I’m a 2 A, she’s a 16 DD ) that has different colored cutting lines, and is easy to tile ☑️.
I’m so tired of sewing pattern with unrealistic body sizing…I read the envelope and supposedly wear a size 12, when an eight actually fits. So I always cut out the 8, but then I sew something else, then the waist doesn’t fit…RRR ! Some pattern design companies have great fitting patterns but their instructions are minimal to nonexistent or downright confusing. More frustration !
So without any hesitation I have purchased and printing out this pattern.
P. S. I wear a 2 in Itch To Stitch, 8 McCalls / Simplicity etc….usually.
Trouverez-je enfin le modèle de chemise déclinable a l’infini ? Qui ne baille pas à la poitrine ? J’espère !!!
