Primary Fabric Use light to medium-weight knit fabric with at least 100% horizontal stretch and 30% vertical stretch. Jersey, viscose knit and stretch velvet with some drape and recovery are good choices. If using a fabric with more or less stretch, you may need to choose a smaller or larger size respectively. If using an extremely drapey knit, such as rayon or bamboo knit, you may need to go down a size and possibly stabilize the neckline with knit fusible interfacing. Avoid very structured knits. Do not use woven fabric.
Contrast Fabric Use light to medium-weight knit fabric with similar stretch as the primary fabric. Alternatively, you may also use the primary fabric as contrast.
Most natural fibers shrink in the wash; be sure to have enough fabric. The requirements below assume that the fabric is already pre-shrunk.

I made the high-low handkerchief version of this top and I’ve been wearing it ever since! It’s so comfortable, perfect to wear with jeans. Made mine from ponte (or similar to ponte fabric) and used french terry for the sleeves. I’ll be definitely making more of these! Thank you!

I made mine today! Used ponte and French terry and made the swing bodice with subtle handkerchief high-low hem version. I really like the fit, it looks great on me. Great instructions and I love, love, love the corners on the hem! Thank you!

Classic and well drafted pattern

I have made two of these tops. I lengthened the bodice pieces by 2.5 cm. Very clear instructions and I love the fit – fitted on the top but looser on the bottom part. A fantastic cut.

This is my third pattern from Itch To Stitch and all of them are great patterns. True to size with excellent instructions and a good fit. I was a bit concerned about the V neck but it was straight forward I am really happy with the final result.

Love the neckline

This is a fabulous knit top pattern! I’ve made three of them with plans to make more. It’s my new TNT knit top pattern! I am petite. Sometimes it’s difficult to find tops that fit my body, but no problems here. I love the way this top fits me. I’ve made my tops out of bamboo, modal and even cotton/lycra – just follow the instructions on sizing up or down if you’re going to use a fabric with more or less stretch.
